How did you go from smoking to vaping?

Smoked about a pack and a half to two packs a day from when I was 14-35. I started on the cheap e-cigs you can buy at a 7-11 and I tried so hard for a week, but I went right back to analogs. Then I did the evo twist cheapo route and that kinda worked better. Still I was smoking about 3-7 cigs a day on top of vaping. THEN a friend let me hit his Stillare driptank. ZOMG I went out the next day and bought a Trident tank and King mech mod and I have never looked back. I also worked my way down from 36mg to 3-6mg(higher nic levels during the day and lower at night). I do not miss inhaling hot garbage. At all.

I smoked 2 packs a day for 30 years, my sons friend had a big vaporizer like a Vamo V6 or something, on December 23, 2014 I told my girlfriend I was gonna quit smoking and look into this vaping, on December 25th went to her moms for Christmas and her sisters boyfriend had a Kanger evod vv so I tried it and on the 26th I drove around found a vape shop and went in and bought a kanger evodd vv some kanger tank and a bottle of Atmos tobacco flavor. and I havnt had a cigarette since.
Now the girlfriend yells at me for spending on vaping supplies, I have spent over $500 in February but im smoke free!

I actually quit smoking cigarettes about 10 years ago and just recently took up vaping. A lot of people start vaping to quit cigarettes and that's great, but my problem, after I quit cigarettes, was finding something to do with my hands, the solution was sticking food in my mouth. When I reached 300 lbs, I knew something had to change. Vaping has really helped me cut way down on in between meal snacking, and I've already lost 5 pounds.

I was already on a post-holidays diet when I first started vaping; it had taken a full month to lose the first 5 lbs, but after I started vaping, and I could sit around and vape while watching TV instead of sticking junk food in my mouth, I lost the next 10 lbs very quickly, in about 3 wks.

Of course, for this current post-holiday weight gain, food tastes so much better now, I haven't lost any. :D At least it's nearly spring, when I'll be outside doing manual labor in my garden, so I'm not too upset about it -- being free of cigarettes is its own reward. :thumb:

A mind trick that works for me is to make sure I have stinkiest available but choose to not smoke them and vape instead. For some reason not having any cigarettes available causes anxiety and I want them more than I should. I am strange.

Yes I have this problem too; I haven't smoked in over 7 months, but I still have my last open pk in a ziplock in the freezer (right behind my stash of nicotine!). It gives me A FREE CHOICE. As long as it's my own choice with zero pressure, I choose to vape instead of smoke. But without the cigarettes here? I'd be a wreck, in a panic, and finally ...... off, so I'd go get cigarettes and probably smoke them.

I'll keep those old cigarettes in my freezer forever, if it gives me that freedom of choice.

I finished every coffin nail in the house before vaping the first time. Started with a Halo starter kit, since they already resembled cigarettes. As a starter they are pretty descent & the feel is very pleasant, almost like velvet. There e-juice was pretty amazing also. If I had never found any mods or tanks from Kanger or Aspire, I'd be pretty content with Halo.

Haven't looked back since! Hope this helps, Good Luck!

I was anti vape. Did not believe in the product whatsoever - $150 "Evics!?" I just didn't get it. Until I began working in the industry and I received an ego for free. I still didn't quit smoking for about 6 months, until I started dripping. By then I could really distinguish the taste of pure nicotine and what is it supposed to taste like versus all of the chemicals in cigarettes. I haven't smoked a cigarette in two years, not because I try to stay away, because I am repulsed by the smell and taste of the 2000 chemicals besides nicotine. Disgusting.

Well personally after 20 years smoking, I had decided my lungs were starting to want me to quit last year, so I went and got patches from my Dr. Long story short I struggled with that for a whole year, cutbacks, patches, anti anxiety meds, even cold turkey (I can torment myself for up to 71 hours apparently and still cave at 72!), and still smoking a pack to a pack and a half every day. Then my sisters showed up (they are all still in their 20s lol) from California vaping and I thought well isn't that kinda cool, I suppose I would try it out and maybe some of their shoes and clothes too lol, maybe feel young again. So anyway, I grabbed a blu kit and also tried just about everything else available at the local gas stations as well but mostly just ended up frustrated and annoyed. Then I finally got a good set of the blu vanilla cartos and yum....I found after that week with those that I would crave cigarettes, but also weirdly I also craved that glorious vanilla flavor. And something clicked I guess because I realized that yes this could work. I was smoking a lot less and besides the nicotine fits lol, I actually would prefer the blus IF they worked lol. So anyways I started asking Bing lol, ended up here, and with the awesome help and advice I found here I ended up at the local vape store, where I ran into the coolest older ladies in there buying supplies, who kinda sold me on the whole thing completely, and ended up walking out with an evod and after that it was one more cigarette that night with my sis, and I never cared about them again. Which is crazy surprising because I had honestly wanted to quit but just couldn't do it because I was so miserable without my best friend "Marb" lol. I guess I wanted to and I didn't. It's only been a few weeks but I know I won't go back because I got peanut butter and strawberry champagne and I have lost ten pounds and the anxiety is gone and I can't be happier with my new best friend Evod lol.
Honestly tho, as far as advice goes, don't stress yourself out by forcing the quitting thing. Just make sure you get a nice, easy to use, reliable set up, and a few flavors you really enjoy. Then just vape away and see if it doesn't just work that easily. You might find that it just does happen that way. If not then yeah throw in a little extra willpower, but you might just find if you don't over think it and supply yourself with a more enjoyable alternative, that you just switch over. Also to be honest just carry your evod or whatever your choice ends up being around with you at first all the time, and have your other pack somewhere less convenient. It may seem weird but it helped me lol. Anyhow Good Luck to you! Wishing you success!

I'm a newbie and trying to quit smoking. Right now I am smoking and vaping. Monday the 9th is my quit date for analogs. How did you do it? Did you go right to vaping or did you wean off analogs while vaping?

I smoked heavy for 30 years.
Switched pretty quick; basically within days though I had an occasional cigarette up to about a month later.
Similar story among people who smoked for decades and the lungs are all black with tar, so the cig smoke doesn't really get far in there anyway.

I got my New EVOD on Friday night right after i had bought a pack of smokes that day. I got home and vaped it and thought "Wow thats tasty" and then slowly started not wanting to go out for cigarettes. I kept looking at the pack saying " i dont really want a cigarette but i want the pack to be gone" so then id go out and smoke one and think about how crappy the taste was compared to my vape. well the pack finally ran out on Tues night when i smoked the last one right before i went to bed. I woke up yesterday morning really craving a smoke but had my vape and felt great after. Got to work and went out to vape with the smokers and never wanted one at all, they were even holding them out to me trying to get me to have one but i never let them get to me! I love vaping and cant wait to try new juice and setups. i'm feeling great about the switch and very proud of myself for being able to do it after smoking a PAD for 13 years.
