Newbie question about Nicotine levels? And how do you smoke these things anyway?

buy small bottles, 10ml or lower if you can find. With different nicotine levels. Then you'll know what suits you best. As a nonsmoker I take 0.6 or 0.8 whichever is avaiable. Also, I found its not so much about the nicotine levels, strong mods with 4 coils are too harsh for me, but the two coil e-go that I have is nice and easy, I could vape for ages with it.

Thanks so much for these links; it's taking me forever to read everything and figure all this stuff out. The Starter Setup article seems particularly helpful for me -- I've learned the hard way this week that I really, really do need to have two batteries. It is such a bummer to wait for the battery to charge! I'm wondering though what the benefits of variable voltage batteries like the Spinner or Twist are? Also, how long do these take to charge? It seems like my little eGo-T 650 takes forever; will these take longer?

sounds like you could do with a lower nic level..
options include:
best option
buy a 0 nic juice of the same flavor and mixing what you have already with the 0 nic stuff to dilute the 18 to 9 (50/50 mix of 0/18)

find a juice with higher VG levels ( 80%+) at 6 - 12 nic ( requires buying a new bottle)

or get some Glycerin ( Humco is a good one) from Wal-Mart type stores and dilute the juice with it ( but the flavor drops in strength too) to reduce the nic.

You can mix down to the level you like, even if they don't stock what you need. If 18mg makes your pulse race, then you would likely be happier at lower levels. Most shops stock 8mg or 9mg and some stock 0mg. You can always mix a bottle of 0 with 18 and get 9 or two bottles of 0 with one bottle of 18mg and get 6mg to preserve the investment instead of throwing it away.

Now that you have started vaping, check out some of the online juice vendors discussed here on ECF. Just remember when you read juice reviews you may find that you don't like what someone else raves about. It's just that way.

yup having 2 batteries is a good thing..... having to wait for one to charge up ( especially when having a nic fit) is taxing on the mind :)
consider getting a 1100 or 1300 mAh battery and use that as the primary battery, keep the smaller one charged, when the bigger one needs charging, swap over to the smaller one. The smaller one will last long enuf as the big one charges, once the big one goes back into service throw the small one back on the charger....
once you have decided that this is going to be a permenant part of your daily activities, consider going to better battery options ( VV/VW 18650 battery mod)
check out Fasttech.com do a search for E-cigarettes... and be overwhelmed by the gazillion choices you will have.... :)

Thank you for the kind welcome. I've got a question about the PG/VG ratio. My store doesn't post this information, and the labels on my juice list PG first, then VG. Is there a standard ratio between the two? Also, are there any online stores you can recommend?

If i am not mistaken, there are a variety of ratios and you can choose what you want.. that's what i have seen on some sites at least.

Here are some ECF polls on pg/vg mix and nicotine ratio.

For me, variable voltage was a gamechanger. Very few flavors taste the same at the same voltage; many have their own "sweet spot" if you experiment by making a voltage adjustment. For instance, many fruit flavors are better in the lower voltages. Others like tobacco or coffee flavors taste better at a higher voltage. Plus, you can adjust your voltage to the coil resistance of your tanks.

It won't take any longer for a variable voltage battery to charge than a fixed voltage model. Approximately 2 1/2 hours for a 650 mah battery, 3 1/2 hours for a 1300 mah battery. Just be certain to use an appropriate eGo charger and USB/wall adaptor. Don't use a computer USB port or auto USB.

There are eGo batteries and a few mods which are "pass throughs". You can vape them while they are on the charger, or to save battery life.

When it comes to batteries and tanks: Backups for your backups. :rules:

My starter kit came with the USB charger, but no wall adaptor! I've been using my own wall adapter, and it seems to work, although it took 5 hours to charge last night. I'm figuring out that my B&M store was cheap, but not very helpful... no warning about not using the USB with a computer to charge.

Fortunately I found ECF, and you all have been so much more helpful than the gal at the store!

Thanks all!
