Howdy yall,
I've just found the forum and am learning a lot. I was looking at one of the ecig sites, the njoy I think, and it seemed to indicate that to use the device I would have to insert the battery each time. As in, it didn't have a switch or anything and I would have to carry the device and a loose battery. Am I confused or is this just how these things are designed. One of the big draws for me is the convenience of being able to take a puff or two when the urge strikes. Having to insert a battery (or cartridge) each time seems like a bit of a hassle.
Thanks,
Lugash

You only have to change the battery when it is discharged, same with the cartridge. It is preferable to disconnect the battery overnight because I read somewhere that it does lose some power when connected, but very very little. Anyways, it's best to leave your atomizer standing up to drain excess liquid overnight anyways. I have a little lanyard around my neck. Whenever I want a fix, I just take a puff, nothing else to do. Good luck, Njoy is a good product.

Wow, thanks for the super fast reply! Right now I'm leaning towards the Kissbox, as I've read lots of good things about it here. Just to make sure, this is something I can toss in my purse and have a drag or three when the urge hits, right? I mean, obviously these are quite a bit more delicate than regular cigarettes. :) But there's no 'ritual' involved with them, like with pipes, is there? It's pretty much just grab it, puff, drop it back in my bag, or am I missing something blindingly obvious?
Oh, and it's not a major concern, but I roll my own cigarettes. Would it be safe to assume that if I were to switch completely to an e-cig it would be fairly cost neutral?
Eeek, one last thing I just thought of. I know these are legal in nonsmoking areas. It also seems that some of the time I'd be asked not to use it anyway, which isn't a problem at all. But since an e-cig isn't a 5 minute+ commitment like a cigarette, how often would yall say that it's not noticed. For example, if I'm at a restaurant and want a puff or two, is that something that'd have the waitress swoop down on me more often than not? Or, I guess I could just step into the bathroom for a minute.

I stealth puff all the time. A few times I've come close to being caught, even once blew out a cloud of vapor that someone else walked right through. But no one's called me on it yet. If you hold the hit for a few seconds longer than usual there won't be any visible exhalation. That helps. Sooner or later I'll get some vacation time and I'll smoke on the plane. Try and stop me. :D

The automatic you could keep in your purse, not the manual, some other stuff in there could turn it on. Would be funny seeming like your purse is on fire.

Nuvape sells clips that you can put on your ecig to use as either a holder for like a shirt pocket, or if you turn it around, it will cover the button and keep it from being accidentally activated. I highly recommend a manual batter no matter what you decide to get. They last a lot longer in the long run than the automatic ones do.

geez, i miss u guys, sorry, but i gave up e-cigs and went back to smokes. i will still play with them, but for me, it is smokes, or health. i wish that i could get a hit off of it, but it just doesn't work for me. Maybe ecigs while i taper down, i don't know. Just trying to be truthful.

Curious as to what model you were using? Because I tried the blu first and it didn't do it for me at all. Got a 510 and it was like a completely different experience. Been vaping for about 2 weeks now, still smoke about 2 or 3 real cigarettes a day but thats way better than the pack and a half of marlboro reds I was smoking a day. I am having the most trouble in the morning when my nicotine craving is it's strongest.

    Somewhere between here and there
mogur, have you ever considered swedish snus or snuff. Several people on the forum use one or both and still vape some. Some people like myself not only have cravings for the nicotine but also for the alkaloids in tobacco. A couple portions of snus each day has made a huge difference for me.

Hi Lugash! I use an M402 in a personal charging case and I use it almost exactly as you describe. I pull it out, take a few puffs, then put it away. E-cigs are small things, you don't really want one loose in your purse I think, manual or auto. The good thing about the M series cases are they will hold a fully assembled e-cig, plus a spare battery on the charger. The 510 case you have to disassemble the e-cig before you can put it in.

If you're rolling your own I doubt you will find refilling cartridges to be much of a hassle. I would think, after the initial start up cost, and if you don't go crazy buying new equipment like most of us do :) , then the cost should less than rolling your own, especially if you mix your own juice.
