Hi, I have a newbie question so don't get mad. I've been vaping almost 5 years and most of my juices were chinese brands or from madvapes.com. Honestly they taste bad, most of them are sour and so far I couldn't find the best juice. For example madvapes Apricot, Top Banana taste sour and very similar to each other. I'd like to start making my own juices. I've been looking at Wizard Labs and they sell known brands flavors such as LorAnn, TFA. Which brand would you recommend? What's the difference between regular flavor juice and concentrated flavor? For example: plain banana flavor from TFA/LorAnn would it taste similar to madvapes banana ejuice? Sorry for so many newbies questions which were already answered here a thousand times.

Thanks Danny, I just started reading your blog about chocolate flavor and it reminded once I bought a chocolate flavor which were probably one of the best ejuices I ever had but it was thick. I think it was made out of cocao extract. It used to kill my atty within 2 days :) but it was the bomb. Also I bought from the same guy strawberry flavor and it was also one of the best I ever had. I've used madvapes / chinese brands to find anything close but I couldn't. I don't know if the guy used real extracts or ejuice flavors. When I was smoking these ejuices felt like I ate real fruits. I would love to replicate maybe in the future or at least to get a similar flavor. After smoking these ejuices I always had a nice breath in my mouth compare to others which leaves something nasty. Anyhow, the reason I'd like to buy from Wizards Labs because flavors $1.50 for 8ml. I can easily afford to buy plenty of flavors to play with. Also nicotine, pg and vg at affordable lower price with free shipping, plus there are located in USA which is a big plus to get them fast vs oversea. I know it's all about trial and errors but an expert opinion is always a plus just to get started in the right directions. Currently I'm using madvapes ejuices 80vg/20pg. They are making a lot of smoke for me which is making way to hard to smoke at work. I'd love to experiment maybe try 50/50 just to lower smoke. Which nicotine should I buy based on PG or VG? I would guess it doesn't make any difference since ejuice would calculate the difference.

You might be able to play with flavors and not have to worry about making a great tasting juice. Not sure because if I didn't have great flavor, I never would have made the switch to vaping, but you did.

You can go dannyv45's route, your own route, but I recommend Capella's to new mixers. Specifically Sweet Tangerine, because it's really easy to make a good juice with it. Most of cap's flavors are resistant to the usual effects of over-flavoring which helps a new mixer from encountering the confusing more-flavoring=less-flavor so they get a feel for mixing with flavorings before going on to the, typically, more difficult to work with TPA\TFA, FA, Loranns flavorings.

Which nicotine should I buy based on PG or VG?

You would decide which base to buy your Nicotine in based on what base you'll be vaping. for instance

if you will be vaping a 75pg/25vg base buy your NIC in PG

if you will be vaping a 75vg/25pg base buy your NIC in vG

If you vape 50/50 it don't matter.

Wizard Labs is a good place to start, there's also High Desert Vapes, and One Stop DIY Vapor Shop to name a few who also sell in small sample sizes. Your question about the Madvapes banana juice is hard to pin down as I don't know what flavor brand they use. While TPA and LA both have banana flavoring each brand tastes completely different so its gonna take some trial and error to find which brand tastes best to you. When I started DIY I used LA at first but after trying several other brands I no longer use it. To me there are a lot of other brands I like much better such as Capella, FlavourArt, FlavorWest, Hangsen as well as a few others. No need to apologize for any questions, at some point we have all been where you are right now in starting DIY. Its just going to take some time but if you keep at it you will come up with very good mixes and its a nice feeling to vape a good juice that you've created. DannyV and Hoosier are two of the most knowledgeable and helpful guys on the site so be sure to check their blogs and info, they will steer you in the right direction. Have fun venturing into DIY and be safe :)
