I have had a pink toothbrush every day for the last couple of years. Very healthy teeth otherwise. I believe it's a little bit of gingivitis. It's been 2 weeks since I really smoked cigarettes, not counting 2 or 3 I puffed on and put out. My toothbrush is now bright red after brushing and I can taste the blood for a few minutes after I brush.
I don't know if it's the ecig, or the nicotine lozenges I was using the first week, or just a strange side effect from quitting.
I read somewhere that once nicotine from a real cig is no longer constricting your blood vessels, bleeding may increase or gum disease that wasn't seen before may come to light. But if that's true, and we're still getting nicotine from the vapor....why would that happen to an ecig user who has quit? Cold turkey quitting might make sense. I do realize that there are many chemicals in cigs..but with nicotine causing constriction..and nicotine being in eliquid..I don't see why we should be experiencing it.
The liquid that came with my starter kit is 100% PG as far as I know. Maybe that has something to do with it, was planning to order 70/30 for my first eliquid order anyway. Will see how things are in a few weeks. Just wanted to put in my 2 cents and mention that I am experiencing this as well.
