I totally agree with the above. I run my Magma in single coil mode, usually at 1.4 to 1.6 ohms. . The ohm reader on the MVP is accurate enough for coils in that range to get you started. The MVP resistance reading is always within a tenth of an ohm of my other devices and my Fluke DMM. If and when you get deeper into re-buildables, you'll want a multimeter for checking batteries and trouble-shooting connections. If you ever want to do sub-ohm builds, that's when you'll need a good stand-alone ohm meter.

I' tried a 1.3 ohm builds on my MVP just now and it did fire the coil.

I run Kayfuns on my MVP and usually aim for a 1.6 ohm build. I recommend the Kayfun for a tank, I find it easy enough to build, but think you're better off starting with a dripper until you get the hang of making coils and wicking.

I got my Magma from fasttech . But the all stainless one is out of stock right now "ships in 7 business days" https://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10008103/1718100 so figure 3 weeks or so to get it. The brass and copper trimmed ones are in stock https://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10008103/1785901 or https://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10008103/1785900, so those might be 2 weeks for shipping. According to posts on the FT forum, the version I linked to is the same as the one sold by Infinity.

+1 for the Magma. I have two, one with copper AFC and one full SS. My favorite drippers!
