I am hoping to get some help. I have been looking at this forum for about a week now and have finally decided to order the Boge Leo Royal for me and my husband. This was the most economical set up with 2 complete e cigs. There have been a lot of reviews mostly good. My co-workers are all using tanks ( not Boge) and I'm a little confused as to whether to order standard or tank and are the interchangeable as long as I have the Leo battery?:blink:

The crucial part is the battery connection. Leo uses a 808 connection which is a bit rare. Clear majority of devices use a 510/eGo connection, so I would definitely start with one of those. Atomizer availability and offering is hugely better.

Then there is the choice of a atomizer/clearomizer/cartomizer. This is subject to personal preference, but clearomizers seem to be very popular at the moment. I would get someting like a Vivi Nova Mini or E1-V as a kit with possibly the eGo Twist (or KGO VV) battery. While Boge cartomizers are still very popular, I didn't like either the idea, performance or usability of cartomizers.

But I'm sure you will get several very different recommendations.

If you catch on vaping, you would save quite a bit if you could continue using the batteries from your your starter kit with new atomizers etc. What is the price you found for the kit you mentioned?

Here's a single kit for $20:
Mini Starter Kit - 650mah - Stainless - DiscountVapers.com

Or you can make your own kit: Two eGo batteries, 5 CE3 clearos and a charger for $41.

What they are talking about are the very high concentrations we use in DIY juice. I use 60mg and cut it down to what I want some use 100mg. Most eliquid you buy is much safer but you still need to keep out of reach of children and pets. Most people start around 18-24mg in the store bought eliquids. You wouldn't want to drink it and should wash off if any gets on you.

The pg gives more throat hit and vg more vapor. I use 70/30 but everyone is a little different. I smoked a very long time and started w/12mg found I needed higher ended up mixing 12mg+18mg for 15mg. Now I make my own. You will need to be careful if the leo is 808 threads as juice delivery devices are harder to find with those threads. Most everything I see is 510. I started w/808 but switched so I could use many more suppliers and take advantage of sales. Smokeless image is a site that sells the volt which is very popular and they are 808. The tank systems that come with those small kits are prone to leak. SI has the stardust clearo-chek them out.

Yes thats what I did at first. Mix equal amounts of each 18+12/2=15. Actually what got me into diy was trying to fix the juices I bought. You will find that some are downright nasty and a waste of money. There is a lot of trial and error til you find what suits you. Best to try small samples at first then buy more of what you like.

Can I get good results mixing PG and VG. I have no experience with either so I figured I would try each alone and if I didn't like it try mixing it a little until I got the right mix. Most of my co-workers have gone straight to flavors because they didn't like the tobacco mixes. I think I need the Newport flavor first just until I wean myself from smoking. I did order a sample of Freedom Smoke Blackberry because it had good reviews.

if you decide to go with the leo you can get a leo to 510 adapter...I believe madvapes.com has them.

also, no matter what you get, you each will need at least 2 ecigs...at the VERY least. so as soon as you decide what you like you need to get more. It seems expensive in the beginning, but just remember what you spend on cigs. and after a short while (unless you become a shopaholic, then it will be longer) you will actually save money :)

eliquids. as mentioned, in the beginning only get small bottles. if you get one you hate, set it aside, you may love it in a month, 3 months, whatever.

good luck
