Hi there. My name is Cheryl. My husband is in the Army, so we are currently stationed in Germany. I own a titan 510 and just a couple of days ago ordered a Blu (mainly because of the size). I'm also thinking the automatic battery might work better for me, even though I've read a lot of negatives about them.

I am desperately trying to quit smoking analogs 100%. I can't pinpoint the reason I still smoke them. I guess it's the nicotine addiction. I have ordered a lot of 0 nicotine liquid because I really wanted to go 100%. It's so hard though. I'm kind of afraid of how much nicotine is actually in the other juices. I have read through alot of these forums, but decided maybe if I become active it will help me out. Thanks.

Hi Cheryl ! nice to have you with us.

I am very new to the forum myself but have managed to give up analogs for 4 days straight, and it wasn't that hard.

I found that even though I used to smoke 10 marlboro ultras a day, the medium strength nicotine was not enough for me, i still had a craving. so I switched to the high version, which has 18mg of nicotine, and that has kept me off the analogs.

how long have you been vaping if you don't mind me asking and do you just use zero nicotine juice or nicotine as well?

i know it is different for everybody but there is no way i could have just vaped zero nicotine to get off the analogs. I am planning on sticking with the high for a few weeks then gradually reducing it, maybe diluting it with pure PG bit by bit to make the nicotine go down very gradually, until i hopefully eventually reach zero nicotine

overall though, you would be much better off vaping high nicotine juice than smoking analogs, even if it takes you longer to get to zero nicotine. but that is just my opinion of course. i am no doctor :)

i hope you will enjoy the forum, it has been and still is a great help for me

You are going 0 nic right away? Wouldn't it have been less expensive switching to flavored toothpicks?

Addiction to nicotine is real, but it is the smoke in cigs that have all the cancer causing chemicals, not the nicotine.

So you'd rather go with 0 nic juice, why? To make it tougher to quit?

I had to go clear to 36mg juice to eliminate cravings and am currently taking that number down. Once I got flavors I liked and a nicotine level that worked, I no longer wanted a cig. No desire whatsoever.

So the idea of going to 0 nic right away is very confusing and seems counterproductive. But if that's your way, good luck to ya'.

I'd also strongly recommend not starting with 0mg. You are addicted not just to the nicotine, but to other stuff in tobacco as well, so you should at least substitute the nic, at least for a while. (In fact, there is usually little reason to quit it altogether; on its own its fairly harmless, on par with coffein.)
Around 80% of all vapers get by with vaping alone. If in a few weeks you still don't manage, have a look at smokeless tobacco to supplement. Works for those of the other 20% who tried it, and is still much healthier than analogs.

I'd also recommend sticking to manual batteries at first, until you have learned how not to flood an atty. Because flooding will break auto batteries eventually. Order one or two auto batteries if you like, to try them, but probably you will find that manuals have a lot of good points.

As you are in Germany atm, if you need any German suppliers (shipping would be faster and cheaper), PM me. Or try ebnferro, around here they are the cheapest that sell good quality.

Welcome to the forum.

I have to add as well that you should start out with some nicotine, then wean yourself off of that or else you are going to be less likely to succeed. Start out with like 24mg and get some pure VG or PG liquid so that you can cut it if it is too strong. Then see if it satisfies your desire. The start to cut down on your nic level.

Good luck!

Thank you all for the great advice! I will get some juice with nicotine in it and give that a go. Thanks for the link also. Another problem I've been having is that my supplies take so long to get here from the U.S. that I always just pick up my analogs instead. I will try a couple different strengths and see what I can figure out. Thanks so much for the warm welcome!

You've already received some great advice and as mentioned, there are more than just the nicotine that you were addicted to in cigarettes. The health advantages of vaping over smoking far outweigh the bad and even though nicotine is addictive and not really good for us, vaping is much better overall.

Get yourself some 11 or 18mg strength juice and if you find it too strong you can always cut it yourself with PG or VG to reduce the level.

By the way, thank you and your husband for your service!!!

Welcome to the ECF! oh yea, I totally agree. Get some juices in a variety of strengths; some high, some low. You might find that you can just vape the high mg when you are "jonesing" for a smoke, and vape the low mg all day. I've even heard a lot of people say that they never even tried to quit, they just sort of forgot to smoke one day and the next, and the next) But I haven't heard of anyone saying they quit smoking on 0mg juice. Good Luck! (and don't beat yourself up if you smoke a couple analogs while you get there, it happens to the best of them-once you get the vaping routine down you'll most likely just forget to smoke one day)

cheryl, have you tried ordering liquid from the UK? that may be quicker. when i send something to my mom in germany, it takes about 4-5 days to arrive, and that is just regular air mail, not express.

iVapour Elixir | PG E-Liquid ? VG E-Liquid ? Cartridges ? Spares | For all electronic cigarettes or e-cigs have reasonable shipping charges to germany. i haven't tried their e-liquid but heard good comments about it.

Electronic Cigarette e-liquid / Totally Wicked e-Liquid / electronic cigarette eliquid nicotine fluid products ships to germany as well but their shipping charges are higher, but their e-liquid is very tasty!

good luck finding the right strength and flavour. while i have found the right strength for me, the jury is still out when it comes to the flavour
