So, I've learned that my Halo is a 510 model. *cheers for finding out that much* I'm curious about the ego tanks. Do I need a whole new kit? Will my 510 batts work with the ego tank cart and atty? Also, V4L stuff, are those 510s? Or something else?

I'm still horribly new at this. I wanna get a passthru, since I sit at my computer all the time, but want to make sure that it's compatible.

Thanks!

Okay, I'm fairly certain that you need an eGo or Riva to use the tank system. Not positive, though. V4L is a kr808d-1 model. The threads are completely different from the 510 models. There are adapters, but I don't think for using the tank.

The only passthrough I use is an eGo. I understand that if you get the 510 passthrough (in line??) it will work as a 5V.

I hope someone comes along and corrects me soon if I'm wrong about this.

Edit: Also, I going to add that the tank system is still pretty new. There have been some good reviews about it, but nobody knows whether the start up costs on these are worth it. They are basically a convenient replacement for those of us that prefer dripping. I'm going to wait and see how the reviews for these are a couple of months from now. I'm pretty comfortable dripping at home and using cartos for on the go. I can't see spending $12-14 on an atty + cost of carts to see if I might like it better.

OH! And V4L stuff is 808, not 510. And I believe the tank thingy will work on the 510, but it's gonna look a bit silly. :) You have to use it with a cone style atty that really is made specifically to go with the eGo battery....still, it WOULD thread onto your skinny 510 battery.

I received my new Ego T today so far am loving it! Drained my first cart no problem. Also just ordered the atty and carts with an Ego passthrough the one that you can also use as a regular battery when not at the computer from Liberty Flights. It seems you use a little more juice but it sure is nice if it keeps up!!!!!

OK to make it simple:
510 threads are FEMALE on the battery
901/KR808D-1 (Vapor4Life) threads are MALE on the battery.

You can always get an adapter to go between the two, ie: A 901 battery with a 901-510 adapter and use your 510 atomizer on the 901 battery.

So 2 are usually interchangeable, 510 is not. The new eGo tank sounds great from everything I've read but from what I understand, the size of it hinder use on a regular 510 battery. You would need an eGo battery. I'd suggest the passthrough eGo. The cap comes off the end to plug in to the computer OR you can cap the end and walk out the door and it works like a regular battery. eGo is 510 threaded. You can get a eGo-T atomizer for around $15, the tanks for around $7 a 5 pack and a USB eGo for around $25, give or take a few $ depending on vendor.

I had more to add and completely forgot what it was! Hope that helps a little :)

wait wait wait..... what's a tank?

to the OP- it's not your fault, it takes a long time to catch up to the lingo used here, and then if you take a break (like I did) all kinds of new stuff comes out. I'm a dripper and now I need to know what a tank is.....????

Lexi, I got this from a vendor site:

The eGo T new 1.1 ml tank system drips e-liquid directly into the atomizer. This allows a consumer to drip without the need to add liquid after every couple of puffs.

The eGo T uses a Tank cartridge and a Tank atomizer. The design still uses the proven eGo double air circulation system providing a smooth consistent hit and tons of vapor.

No not really...
36mg, is really to low to seriously DIY...unless your vaping like 5mg
there are places to get vg-pg for much cheaper.
Not nearly enough empty bottles
Loranna's really isnt that great of flavoring for eliquid, I mean some of them are alright but there are much betters out there. Besides they only cost 1.40
I've yet to use any of the Pipettes I've received, prefer needle and syringe for accuracy
and your going to need more gloves really.

I agree with most of what UntamedRose posted. I think that's over priced and you could throw a better kit together without so much waste. Pipettes and droppers aren't all that great to work with. I do use 36 mg often. I vape at 18 mg so diluting to 18 mg is simple and I have plenty of room to work at that ratio. Unflavored nicotine liquid is usually on sale around here some place, so I would buy that on sale. Check Gourmet Vapor and see if their sale is still going. I think the sale is posted in the Deals N steals thread here. Browse through the forum suppliers thread also. There's a bottle co-op going on now, so check there for bottles. Orders will be turned in on Feb 4th.

Thank you for the great advice! I can't say enough how awesome you all are. And I just got absolutely fantabulous news. I get to keep my unemployment benefits! HURRAY! I got a check. Gotta pay rent first, and put some gas in the car, and get some food besides sammich makins, but I'll probably pick up some DIY stuff here shortly.

More questions! Whee! Okay, so the kit's not so good. What's a good put together myself kit to get? What supplies should I get besides PG, VG, and Nic? What type of syringes? Bottle sizes, etc should I get? I've got access to gloves. *hangs head in shame* I'm sorry to bug you guys with all these questions but I do appreciate all the help you've been giving me! I promise, once I get some good juice recipes I'll share!

Chelle- thanks for explaining that!! That's what I get for ducking out for a few months. Miss somethign that sounds amazing!! :)

as for the DIY supplies, you'll need a way to meassure what you're mixing pippettes or syringes, and some form of graduated cylendar, you'll need bottles(5 ml are great for personal use, I don't go bigger than 20ml becuase that's what I use when i have found something I really like... :) 3ml if you're going to do samples), and santiation supplies. Depending on the mg in the nic juice you buy, you may need PPE (personal protective equipment). You will also need flavoring. Everyone has their own preferences. And I saw UTRose say not to get lorans, but when you're just starting out, lorans is cheap and you don't feel bad for wasting it while you're learning.... lol. at least I didnt!! :)

so:

bottles
flavoring
PPE
measuring tools

Extras:

a small funnel (has made a world of difference for me)
syringe tubes without needles (great for helping to mix!! slurp it up spit it out and repeat)
tackle box to hold everything

that's just kind of the basics. You'll potentially get some freebie items you'll love, and you may order stuff you find out later you hate. it's all about preference.
