Hello to everyone. I just ordered my dse901 from ruyandirect. I'm pretty excited to get my order since my friend has had one for only 4 days and already stopped smoking regular cigs.
I have been smoking sine I was 14 and I am 29 now. I wake up in the morning coughing and not being able the breath well when I run out side for my first cigarette of the day. Which brings me to my first question. Has anyone that used to smoke analongs and switched to the e cigarette notice changes in their health or improvents on breathing, lung capacity and the annoying morning cough.

I plan on using this to quite smoking and if it works order one for my sister, bro in law, dad and mom.

Well that's it for now I will keep you guys updated on me and my families progress with this. Oh just fyi I'm am a 1-1.5 pack a day smoker. And that not if I'm drinking , that can climb to 3

Newbie vaper here. I've smoked on and off for almost 30 years, and every time I quit, I feel like crap. You know how people tell you that you'll feel great when you quit? For me that just isn't true.

When I start again, I go right back up to 3 packs a day, and I feel fantastic. When I quit, I get sick...really sick. To the point where I can't hold a job or function normally. I've been diagnosed with various disorders that are either unrecognized or considered to be BS, such as fibromyalgia, but the bottom line is, if I want to function, I smoke.

My husband hates cigarettes and the stink, and I have kids, so e-cigs seem like a decent option. Plus, we run in a pretty crunchy/healthy/pain in the .... snooty anti smoking crowd, so I can hide my nasty habit better with the e-cigs. It's a lot easier to sneak off somewhere and have a few puffs without leaving a tell-tale odor behind.

I'm still searching for the perfect e-cig. I like my Red Dragon, but I am trying to find something I can use with a non PG liquid I can drip carts with. So far I'm not getting good vapor with my Janty Kiss Box, but they finally answered my emails and are sending a new atomizer to see if that was the problem.

I'm also trying to find a supplier who ships US mail instead of FedEx or UPS if possible, since those guys just kill us with charges to Hawaii. Am I asking the impossible?

A couple of comments:

Orzosro: I've only been vaping for 5 days now, and have smoked 4 analogs in that time, the last one 3 days ago. I've already noticed the usual morning head congestion, nose-blowing, and coughing is gone. (I was smoking about a pack a day, more on weekends.) You may want to make sure someone is ready before you gift 'em with an e-cig, though. I gave one to my bf; he was intrigued but he is not in a good space psychologically to quit analogs right now. Maybe when he's less stressed at work. Might help to get the folks you want to give these to excited about the idea first -- I think I got so excited on my own, I really wanted this to work, and so far, so great.

Bigeyes: Not sure about Hawaii, but e-smokeytreats.com ships USPS, at least in the continental US. And he's amazingly fast. Got our 109s from him and a second shipment of juice and stuff, and it all got here double-quick, from CA to FL. I'm pretty sure you can choose PG or non-PG liquid there.

I'm loving this. It's crazy-easy at work -- not nearly the problems I'd anticipated carrying supplies or keeping batteries charged. I won't vape in my office, but on a rotten-weather day I can always vape in the bathroom without raising any eyebrows. Love vaping in my car instead of smoking. And I'm finding, quite unexpectedly, the time I spend in the kitchen now is more topping off carts than rummaging for a snack. Gimme a cart filled with 1 part menthol, 2 parts cherry and 2 parts chocolate and those potato chips lurking in the cabinet don't have a prayer of even crossing my mind. (When will someone do a BACON flavor?)

Happy vaping, kids.

Hello to everyone...
I am now a vaper... hopefully, if things can get through customs! I had seen the Npro from Njoy at my local gas station a few weeks ago. That was my first time seeing this. I kinda, laughed (sorry). But the other night I couldn't sleep and found a forsale thread on another forum where a guy was selling his e-cigar. I decided I would check these things out more and by the time I went to sleep that night I had pretty much decided to get one. I bought my first Npro this past Monday. Then I found this forum on Tuesday and learned about the whole FDA/customs/ban issue. Curse my luck, curse it I say! After reading about all the folks that have stopped smoking analogs with this stuff, and alot who have stopped all together because of E-cigs... there are only devious reasons why someone would want to stop this. Well, I guess I can see public safety concerns, we are afterall talking about nicotine... stuff can kill you in the wrong amounts. But anywho, I am such a HUGE fan of vaping. I've only been using this thing a few days and I'm already down to half a pack a day, a full 50% reduction for me!
My long term goals for vaping are to find me some juice, get a larger device for the house and the Npro or a similar 901 I think for out and about use.
I've been crusing the forum for the last few days, mainly in the news section trying to find out if my new favorite thing was to be cut down before I even could enjoy it. But if it's okay I'd like to ask some questions that are, I'm sure answered everywhere on this forum. But if a few folks would be kind enough to help me out, get me up to speed, give me a crash course, etc... I would be VERY greatful!
So here goes...
1. JUICE - I'm looking for JUICE! While the carts are cool I still want to get my hands on some quality juice! I'm very interested to try to Vegetable Glycerine, or some other natural component. I would preffer factory sealed containers, is this done by anyone or by all? And can anyone point me to someone that is for sure shipping Juice right now? I'm up to buy some this weekend but I need to know if anyone is still shipping. Don't want to get my first few dolalrs in this lifestyle caught up waiting for something that might not come. I know times are uncertain, I'm just looking to know if anybody has a good tip for me. Natural Juices are a plus for me... looking for something with the LEAST amount of chemicals, that's why we quit smoking isn't it?

2. VAPING WITH NO CART - I've already seen some entries elsewhere of people using alternative materials in their carts. From what I gathered some of these are actually polyester? That WILL not be good to smoke! My question though is, Is there any risk to the hardware if I were to Vape by dripping only? A few drops on the atomizer and a blank cap... Is this done or is it crazy? I know it would be time consuming but me and my brother are already thinking of ways around that. Basically he asked why I couldn't carry around a little carmex (lip balm) jar in my pocket that has a sponge inside it holding the juice. Then just pull the endcap off my PV, dab the atomizer coil on the sponge, slap the cap back on and smoke away. I guess I'm just seeing if there is a way around this cart/fabric business.

3. DEVICE QUESTIONS - First of all, I'm thinking I want to get a really nice Pen style for the house. I've heard great things about Janty, and the manual switch looks really appealing. Point of that is to get a smoother draw with less effort right? First part of this question is, Is anyone for sure shipping devices right now? Since things are getting help up at customs, wouldn't a company based in the USA still be okay? Is Janty still shipping right now? Also, I guess what I'm looking for is a PV with a large atomizer. This would be beneficial to my above question about dripping with no cart. So, does anybody know what PV has the largest atomizer coil that is easy to get to?

4. QUESTIONS ABOUT MY NPRO - I've noticed a few things that concern me. When I smoke this thing I've been drawing pretty hard...which I learned today you don't really have to do. But I've noticed that sometimes there is some clear liquid just around the draw hole in the cart, right after I finish a puff. Hard to tell if this is spit or nicotine juice. I'm only using prefilled carts at the moment. I'm worried that this is juice that I might swallow. I've tried to get my mouth dry and give it a puff but I'm still not sure. I've also noticed that there is a liquid between the metal of the atomizer and the plastic tip... you can see little discolored areas when the cap is on. When I pull the cap off there are wet spots on the metal of the atomizer. Is this condensation from it heating up or is this juice that is leaking from my carts? Lastly, I have a question about the "self-cleaning" mode. I'm not sure that I've seen it happen yet but I heard that it gets VERY hot when it happens. Is there a risk of anything catching on fire? At the moment I'm keeping the device in it's original box because I don't have a suitable carrying solution yet. Should I be disconnecting the cart at night? I would but I'm almost worried that this will cause it to dry out quicker than it normally would.

5. SIDE EFFECTS - I've heard another person comment on their jaw hurting... I gotta say same thing happened to me today but I can't be sure if it's because of the ecig or just something that happened. It has happened to me like this before. Anyway, are there any other side effects I should know of from starting e-smoking? I'm assuming this jaw thing goes away to right?

Hopefully that's not to much to throw out there my first post out but I just wanted to see if someone could get me caught up so I can spend my time better aquiring more devices and juice to fuel my newfound favorite habbit. Thanks in advance to whoever can offer some advice to this wonderfully happy newb.
In closing, happy to be here! Look forward to being here for much longer, and hopefully, contributing to this great community!
Cheers

I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I've been lurking around here for a few days and reading everything I can about ecigs. I haven't gotten mine in yet, still waiting on shipment. I ended up ordering from Red Dragon. I don't know if that is a good one to start with or not but I really want to give this a try? I liked that it had less parts.. hopefully I didn't make a mistake but figured it was time to jump in.

I've tried quitting in the past with no luck, so I'm hopeful that this will help. I've tried using both patches and pills in the past. I came pretty close to quitting on the patches but life has a way of stressing you out and well you all know the rest of how that story went. Anyway I'm looking forward to meeting you all and hopefully we'll all have great sucess with these things.

I have been a member here for a short while, but not posted except one recent comment about places I have bought from.

I am an old married lady, who wants to quit analogs fully, for many reasons, but main one is cost and health issues.

I hope to be supportive and contributing member as time goes on.

Namaste and Blessings,
Shadowe

Hello electronic cigarette forum. : )

I only just recently discovered electronic cigarettes on youtube last week, and I must say that I've been giving them a serious look. I saw a few video reviews (most likely forum members here) and decided I'd look through this site as it seems to be the definitive online e-cigarette resource. I'm currently a pack a day smoker (5+ years) and am still trying to decide what my first e-cig purchase will be.

Anyways, I'm Matt. I enjoy reasonably priced four-door sports sedans, dry humor, alternative and acoustic music, as well as all things computer related. I live in southeast MI and work in the medical industry, which is one of the last sure-fire fields of employment that this state has left to offer.

Shan123: thanks for the response. I have talked to my family about these and gotten them excited. They want to see how mine works first before they decide.

anyway I was at work the other day talking to a safety supervisor about the e cigarette and he told me that the other day he noticed someone smoking in the building. he approached him, thinking that there was going to be some discipline to hand out and some arguments. The worker told the sup about e cigarettes and there was nothing he could do since it wasn't a real cigarette. I cant wait till i get mine now so i can sit in my office and puff away...

I too am new to e-smoking. In the past I typically only smoke when stressed out at work maybe 3-4 times per week but absolutely hated smelling like smoke when I went back in the office. Having originally purchased an e-cig from smoking everywhere 2 weeks ago & last week a DSE901 I am completely obsessed with them. I am also anxiously awaiting a Titan from Totally Wicked. When will I stop spending the money??? I still want to try the M401. This forum has proven to be quite beneficial to me! Most everyone at work thinks I'm crazy however I've convinced a few to try it. It's sooo nice to be able to vape in my care on my way to work without the threat of burning a hole in my interior as well! Love it!!!:)

Hi, my teenager has been smoking a while and I talked her into trying the e cig as a safer alternative to the hard stuff. She was very excited when it came a few days ago, but last night she said she wants to stop because she has headaches, nausea, heartburn, lower abdominal cramps and stinging in her throat. She says she is hardly drawing the vapor in. I scanned the message board and saw a couple of posts on throat burn, but not on the other symptoms. I really do not want her back on tobacco. Any suggestions? We are in Rhode Island, USA

Hello all, I am also new here and have a few questions that maybe some of you could help me out with...

I recently quit somking a few days ago, cold turkey and I am not doing very good. I am quitting due to the high cost of cigarettes. I have been smoking for the past 13-14 years, and do not know if I can just quit without help.

Now reading this forum, I am wondering what I can expect to pay for this new vaping habit on a weekly basis, and what are the best deals. From what I read here, everyone seems to buy multiple e-cigs, which I wouldn't be financially able to do, and have many back-ups, which I also can't afford...

So, what is the best deal for my money? Am I going to have to keep buying new ecigs? I most currently smoked about a pack of day, how much a week is that in juice or carts? Please help, I am having serious withdraws and do not want to go back to smoking cigarettes...

Okay, I think that is all. Thanks in advance for the help...

Brad

Brad,

I think a lot of people here are like me and just feel the need to try out all kinds of options for their new toy. You certainly don't have to. I have a couple of friends who have asked me the same question and I have recommended the following...

1. A kit - DSE901, M401 and 510 all seem to be favorites here, but do your research.
2. 2 or 3 extra atomizers with the kit
3. 1 or 2 extra batteries
4. Some juice, let's say 30ml

You could put all this together for as little as $100-$140, or about a months worth of cigarettes. Based on what I've read here, it'll probably last you for several months. The main reason to order extra items is so that if something does fail, you'll be able to wait a week for fresh supplies.

Like a lot of people here, I've spent a lot more than that, mainly trying different flavors, types and styles of ecigs. I haven't had anything fail yet though, so my first $50 kit and $20 bottle of juice would have been just fine.

Hello I'm Joanna

I'm the wife of a 3 1/2 pack a day, New York smoker. With the tax rates on ciggies my husbands habit = 2 new cars for both of us, a maid or early retirement.
Recently my husbands workplace went 100% smoke free which uped his in home and car intake to unbearable levels for me since I'm asthmatic.

Say what you want about smoking everywhere (and I could say plenty) but until we found that kiosk in the mall we had no idea how we could live in harmony with his nicotine habit and my asthma. We bought a kit for $250.00 (to insure domestic tranquility and) I began my research.

The kit we bought is problematic and unreliable (one battery only lasts for what we estimate 35 hits, dry carts etc.) but my husband loves it. Last night he sneaked a vape or 3 at the movies. I've since purchased 2, 901 kits and 2, 801 kits several atomizers, eliquid, (thank you Midwest vapor) 2, passthroughs, and assorted carts. all for less than a 1 month 3 1/2 pack smoking habit costs in NYS. Now all that's left to do is wait till all the shipments arrive.

His plans are to vape at work and at home when I'm in the house with an occasional analog here and there as my asthma permits, and to smoke either analogs or vape in the car depending on his mood. I've started him out on mostly tobacco flavors. and he's tolerating the 36m. juice well. He's been vaping more since it arrived. He really likes 555 and hates RY4.

So I have some Noob questions I havent been able to find answers for in my week of heavy lurking.

1, We have 4 undisciplined cats. What safety issues do I need to be aware of as far as PG, nicotine and cats? (signs of allergy and/or overdose) This is problematic for us because we have one cat who enjoys smoking with my husband (She will go out of her way to inhale second hand smoke. No we don't let her have cigarettes.), And another cat that will lick/eat almost anything. Any help or advice?

2, Any links in regard to eliquid/vapor and cats?

3, Should I boil my atomisers on arrival to avoid primer taste or are there better methods? Having no idea what he's going to taste and little experience with this equipment I'd like to give him the best shot of sticking with this.

4, He's hesitant to try fruit or candy flavor due to a bad mini cigar incident. aside from dedicating an atomizer to certain flavors what can I do to make this a happy alternative to analogs for him?

5, Which flavors need a dedicated atomizer?

6, What are the signs of allergy and/or overdose? Could some kind person point me to a link where I might find that information

7, Any other analog-anon wives out there?

thanks
joanna
