im so ready to ditch the e-cig! I didnt realize there is so much hassle with using it as compared to just lighting up the regular cig!

I've got friends that want to try e-cig after they see me vaping. They think it's so neat. But I wonder if they will be willing to charge batteries, fill carts or drip. Order or buy extra batteries, carts, e-liquid, etc. So I hesitate to tell them how great these e-cigs are, but I can't help myself, I do anyway then I worry they'll get mad because they think it's too much of a hassle and it's all my fault because I made it look so easy.

Then I think of all the mess I continually cleaned up with analogs, the ashes going everywhere, dirty ashtrays that needed to be emptied and cleaned. I think of the smell of my clothes and my hair, not to talk about my breath. I think about the smell in my truck when I first get in..yuck! I think about having to go out and buy the cigarettes, carrying them in my purse, cleaning out the tobacco mess, and well, I am so grateful to these e-cigs and yes, in a way they are a hassle, but nothing like analogs.

I can understand where you are coming from. Perhaps you thought they would be much easier, understandable. I just hope you won't give up on them. I have been analog free for 15 days now.

Then I think of all the mess

Your mess would be nothing compared to mine, a rollie smoker 8-o

I know exactly what you mean about recommending to friends - my best friend was really keen when he saw what I'd achieved after being such a heavy smoker, but when I got him a couple of starter sets he just couldn't cope with it and gave up trying almost right away.

I always know it's him when I answer the phone, he's in the midst of coughing his guts up :(

Hello all, I'm a brand noobie so please bare with me. My name is Kris and I smoke about 1 and a half packs of marlboro mediums a day for the past 15 years or so. I've tried all the quit smoking garbage and nothing has worked.

I would very much like to try this e cigarette business, but I am feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment by all the info there is to sort thru. So far, I am leaning towards getting a 510. I see that there are a bunch of different names for this, like Yeti, Titan, etc. I'm assuming these are all the same basic product from different distributors. I've checked a few different web sites and they all seem to be out of stock. I have also seen mentioned that some of the shipments are tied up at customs. Is there a question of whether or not they will make it past customs? Is anyone seeing a real crack down going on right now?

Anyway, I am worried that these will be banned. I would like to find a distributor that has stock available and stock up on everything I would need to make my supply last a while. Money isn't an issue. I have about $300 for the initial investment. I could spend more if I have to. I'd like to get everything I need for a 6 month supply or so. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or recommend a similar product that would be more readily available for immediate shipment? I'm in the U.S., by the way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I promise I will do more research before posting in the future. I just feel pressed for time at the moment.

I'm only answering you because you've been waiting so long for a reply. I'm a Brit so I can't advise you on suppliers.

Seems like you may have done too much research, and it's a very confusing field. I know just how you must be feeling.

What I strongly advise you to do is buy TWO starter kits of whatever you see recommended by your fellow-countrymen that is currently readily available; plus some extra carts, some high-nicotine juice, and a bottle of glycerine from the supermarket/drugstore (the glycerine can be used to dilute the juice and improve vape).

Take the plunge, that's the main thing. Write off the money you initially spend, you are buying a training kit. When you have dispelled the mystique of the product, you'll be fit to venture out and experiment.

The EVO seems to be well regarded here.

I have been using the DSE901 Mini since I started last October. It's a temperamental bugga but I haven't smoked tobacco since 23 Oct :D even though I've spent much time tearing my hair out over the damn Mini's failings (which are caused by poor quality control at the Chinese factories).

I'm going to buy a Janty Stick (it's on order, waiting for the first stock to arrive) - that wouldn't be a bad idea for you if you don't want to go with my first suggestion. But it's untested long-term.

You have nothing to lose but your $300, so take the plunge :)

Oh dear, I registered on ECF with a GMail address which I hardly use and forget to look at (I did it as a precaution in case ECF was not very secure - I have in the past been inundated with spam after registering with a forum - apologies to ECF for lack of trust ;) ). Hence I'm not seeing reply alerts and not posting much here, so not building up my post count.

I just tried to change my email address and got told "address already in use"

I went to the Community to post my prob, but I "don't have permission to access".

Please help me to change my email address

It's strange that your address is already used Scylla, I don't understand that.

You have passed the fifteen post mark now so you should be able to start threads outside the new members board.

Thanks Kate :) I suddenly twigged what the problem was - I must have registered myself with my AV Forums name and main email address at some stage, then forgot, then registered with this name and GMail. Honestly, e-cigs didn't come to me a moment too soon, my brain cells are 95% killed 8-o

In future I'll keep GMail open in Firefox - what's one more tab, for heck's sake :sneaky:

I've been spamming away here today and am relieved to see that I am now a "full member" :)

If anyone orders these things thinking it will completely replace the analog they are setting themselves up for failure. I think of it as just changing brands. I now smoke these all natural clean smelling awesome flavored things that require way less maintenance than scrubbing the yellow of my walls and ceilings of my house cuz it stinks so bad from stale ciggy smoke. Its all how you think about it. I love them and dont mind the hassle... Keep trying aquarian Alex......you need a good ecig too tho. that really helps

Hey thanks for the advice, Scyllabub. I think you are right about the too much research thing. I have about 20 tabs open on my browser and a notebook to take notes and keep track of things. I tend to go overboard sometimes.

I found the 510 in stock at totally wicked usa, the Titan I guess it's called. They only had the white ones (I didn't know it came in white when I had originally posted), the black ones are out of stock everywhere. I'm not sure if they still have to ship to the US or not, but the web site for the US said they have them in stock, so I am assuming these are in the US already.

I ordered the Titan starter kit with the 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, charger, and 10 carts. I also ordered 2 extra atomizers, 10 additional carts, 3 bottles of juice, and the USB pass through. It came out to about $255. I think I did alright with the order. Now I just hope it doesn't get hung up anywhere in transit.

Side note, I apologize if I am not posting in the right place right now. I will take some time to look at the forum and figure out the proper etiquette before I post again.

Hello everyone! My name is Nick, I'm from North NJ, and I'm considering switching from "analogs" to e-cigs. I've been smoking for 7 years now, and I think I'm done. I enjoy smoking cigarettes, but not footing the bill.

As far as suppliers go, I've been looking at abettersmoke.com... I'd appreciate any feedback/suggestions you guys have on them as their testimonials seemed.....a little fabricated to me.

Anyways, I look forward to chatting and being an active member of this community!

Thanks!

Nick

I am a long time smoker. Payday has come. I started with a case of bronchitis 5 years ago, had another one 4 years ago. My husband passed away 3 and I got really sick. Bronchitis, pneumonia....it lasted for months and when it was over I was on Atrovent and Albuterol, plus oxygen, 1.5 liter.

Since then I have had Bronchitis a couple of times. If I catch it early, I get by it ok, if I don't...then it is much harder. This time it snuck up on me and I didn't get antibiotics soon enough and next thing I knew I am looking for air and there isn't any.

Oh yes, I should probably add in here that I continued to smoke through all of this. Yea yea, stupid, idiot, dumb.......I've said it all too many times to count and heard it more than that. I know it to be true, and right now when I am just a few hours away from having almost died..........not smoking is no problem whatsoever......tomorrow.....will be another thing.

There is no question, I absolutely cannot smoke anymore. But I am worried about something and I figure this group will know more about this than anyone.

I have heard that when people give up nicotine, that will generally manifest in some physical proble. As you can see that is the last thing I need.

What I am wondering, do you think the stuff used in the e-cigarette would be bad for my lungs at all? There is no way I am going to get my hands on a cigarette. They have ALL been taken away. Even the ones I thought no one knew about:) So, I am going to quit, i'd just like it to be as painless as possible;/

Any advice you all have would be much appreciated.

If I may...

If you can quit smoking entirely, then do so.

If, however, you are like the many people I've encountered in these forums for whom quitting smoking analog (i.e., regular) cigarettes is not something they can do successfully (i.e., quitting and staying off regular cigarettes), then e-cigarettes appear to be the next best thing.

There are plenty of people in this forum that smoked 2 - 3 packs of regular cigarettes per day for decades, and are now suffering from unfortunate health conditions like COPD. All of the stop-smoking aids have been tried and were not sufficient to get them finally, completely off analogs.

So, they tried e-cigarettes, and you wouldn't believe how many posted you will read here by people in this group that smoked their last analog cigarettes after taking their first drag off of an e-cigarette.

Are e-cigarettes for you? Only you can decide that, but they appear to be helping countless people to get off -- and STAY off -- analog cigarettes.

If you do decide to try e-cigarettes, then do plenty of research in this forum first, so that you purchase an e-cigarette and nicotine cartridges that best fit your needs. Once you've tried your first e-cigarette, then please share your experience with us.

I'm sure that the details of your dive into the deep will be valuable to another newbie :D

The reason I said 'get 2 starter kits' was so that you'd have more than 2 batteries and more than one charger. I have no experience whatsoever of the Titan (I was thinking of getting it but the Stick came along) but I imagine you'll be OK, by the time one battery's run out the other will have fully charged. With the Mini, the batteries don't last long and I've got 5 chargers on the go all the time

I shall try to follow you and see how you're getting on - I'm excited for you :sneaky:

Warning/reassurance: you'll get used to the sweetness, don't let it deter you!!!

Oh, wow. I really do wish you the best of luck! You may want to consult your doctor and get his thoughts on ecigs. Theres another thread in this forum about nicotine and surgery, and it might be good for you to talk with your Dr to come up with a plan and get yourself weaned down to 0 nic e-juice.

Really hoping and wishing for the best

Thanks Brun, Got my shipment as promised and have been happily vaping myself most of the day (this sounds very wrong but oh so right lol). analog smoke basically turns your inerds to mush. The surgeons biggest issue is doing irreperable damge to organs that have greatly deteriorated due the effects of smoking during surgery. I if can truly quite analogs for 6 months I should be able to rebuild my organs to a level tolerable for surgery. By then I should be down to the 0mg carts. It's funny. I have consulted with my doctor reguarly for the past 6 months and he never metioned ecigs as an alternative. Take care and thanks!

Hi everyone, nice to meet ya!! Just getting into vaping and love it, am now ordering things to start mixing my own flavors. Can use all the information and help I can get. (grin) Thanks for this forum. Anyone here getting the new Prodigy? I use the pen style now, cause it seems to work better for me. The minis do not give me enough vape or flavor. Any suggestions on better eliquids, carts etc greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
