As per your disclaimer, I have not taken your comments as an attack. Thank you for explaining your opinion in better detail.
I do think you have missed my emphasis on wanting to quit being dependant on nicotine, but not smoking. I really enjoy smoking at this time and feel that switching to an e-cigarette is best for me. I bought a few samples with nicotine, but my goal is to wean myself off of the nicotine by the end of this month. From then on, I still wish to smoke but without nicotine. Should my needs change later and I wish to stop "smoking" completely, then it will be that much easier for me because I will have already "quit" the hard part.
There have been other recommendations for me to quit cold turkey, so it's not "everyone" that "is encouraging [me] to start an addiction." When I started contacting my vendors of choice, I did quote other people's suggestions as well as giving them as much information as I could provide about my personal goals. I believe that my wishes were respected and that I am getting a kit with enough of what I want and also simple enough to avoid getting too far into vaping. Furthermore, I am aware that "vaping" can be a new kind of addiction as well as the whole area of "diy" stuff. Thank you for your concern about getting too involved with vaping. As of right now, I view my use of an e-cig foremost as a cessation device from nicotine and secondly, as a treat. It will just be a treat that I use on occasion.
I have mentioned that my doctor is okay with my decision to use e-cigs and that is as far as I want to go in terms of medical reasons.
Thank you to everyone with your support.
Cheers, Rttch
