I have had mine for about 2 months and love it. I upgraded it from an ego1100. I am not sure about the evods,as I have never used them. I use the texas tuff tank. I got a vivi nova,but I have had problems using it on the Vamo,so I use it on a Ego. Once you use the Vamo it is hard to go back to the Ego,like going from the Ego to a blue. Good luck on your choice.Vamo isn't a bad set-up and they are relatively inexpensive. The extension tubes have been known to break quite easily at the threads leaving you stuck running only a 350. That's the only major issue I've heard of.
If you don't mind a square mod, iTaste just launched the MVP V2 which is also fairly inexpensive, VV/VW and has an ohm reading.
Both of them are considered VV/VW mods. Mechanicals have no electronics (PCB's) and true mechanicals have no wiring at all, just contacts and a metal body to conduct the current.
You are getting pretty close to 20 posts as well and then you can gain access to the classifieds. It might be worth holding off and finding a used higher end mod.

Oh, cool. I'm kinda leaning away from a square mod.It seems the vv/vw are going to need some sort of software? is that right?
The programming is already on the mod so no software really needed. The only one I know of that needs updates is the Evic but I can't tell you what for, I don't have one. If it were me and you're set on a VV mod, save up $120 and stalk the classifieds for a used Provari. Cut out all the middle mods that it would take you to get there anyway. I'm not one of the Provari fanboys, I prefer mechs but I have 2 Provari's and I love them both. They are built like tanks, not to mention made in the USA vs all the typical china stuff.
Edit: forgot to add, if you're already using EVOD's move up to a ProTank or ProTank 2. Not a huge learning curve from an EVOD.

I upgraded recently from the ego twist to a SS Vamo V3, I quite like it, seems to vape very well. I know it isn't considered that tough, but mine has taken two falls once onto tile floor and once onto cement driveway with no damage. I use the ego twists for out and about and the Vamo at home (due to it's size). For bottom coil I really like the Vapeonly 3.5 BCC and for top coil the Kanger T2 with long wicks.

try that once and tell me what you think about the air-draw...
