Last night my wife and i met up with some other couples at a local sports bar for dinner, drinks and to laugh at the karaoke attempts. On entering i saw the familiar " no smoking" sign as all indoor public smoking is prohibited in NC, as many others. What caught my attention was the I-clear/ego setup sticking out of or waitress' pocket. After taking our order I asked her about e-cig/ vaping in the bar and was pleased with the response. Not only was it allowed but they even sold juice and other items. (cig-a-likes, E-cigars) Needless to say , half of us got to retrieve our vape gear. I will be back to say the least. Nice little win for the vape community in a smaller town:toast:

Nice to see a business owner skirt BS laws to satisfy Customer desires.
I understand Family Restaurants but Bars never made sense. Yes we have both crowds that enjoy Bars, but that should be up to the Owner as to which crowd they cater to.

Owner, here's to you :toast:

If the bar serves food it has to cater to the same laws as restaurants. Pretty much all the bars here allow smoking if they don't serve food.

Some Bars Do and Some Bars Don't in my city. So of course I frequent the ones that do. Last year was my son's 21 birthday so we took him out for his first legal drink. My daughter is a few years older then him asked the bartender if we could vape in that bar. His answer was "Of Couse You Can". Now this bar is next to the city I live in. I guess it depends on the city right now in MN. In Minneapolis you can't even vape in a outside park. They consider it smoking still. Drives me insane. I will just stay out in the suburbs where the city encourages vaping!

Yep, MN is crazy. Duluth is close to me and has the same no vaping laws but drive a few more miles and and it is ok. Seems every town and city has their own rules. I bet a lot of other states are the same, but that's ok with me as long as they don't pass those crazy state wide bans I'll just avoid the places I can't vape when possible.
I did just spend some time in Chicago and was worried as I'd heard they passed some pretty strict bans, but I had no problems. People were smoking and vaping pretty much everywhere outdoors so if it was banned, nobody was paying attention!

They may not have been skirting any laws at all. I don't know the laws in NC, where the OP lives, but here, it's not illegal for bars to allow vaping, and I don't know of *any* bars that don't allow it.

Those rules vary, though. Some places have put laws in place that vaping gets treated (legally) the same as smoking.
Bars lost a lot of money when the non-smoking rules were put in place. The smell was the thing that bothered non smokers the most. (Risks of second hand smoke was their excuse, but the smell was what really bothered them.) Vaping doesn't have that smell, so bars don't get many complaints, if any.

This bar has a nice smoking section outside that has a privacy fence and is partially covered with a couple TV's mounted on the wall. Would have had no problem going out there to vape but it was nice to just sit at our table and puff away. I did see a few other people vaping also so we werent alone. Didnt really notice any "odd" looks from others either.

Same thing happened when they brought in the smoking ban in pubs in the UK. Suddenly people noticed a new smell in their local that tobacco had masked before - the distinctive aroma of stale urine. :)

Selling deposables in a bar is great idea!!

Not just disposables. I know a country honky-tonk bar that sells ego's, eVics, lavatubes, Kanger protanks, juice, etc. It's not a full wide selection vape shop, but they sell good basic stuff, starter kits, and such, not just cig-alikes and disposables and such. It's outside Dallas, in a small town that still allows smoking in bars, but it looks to me like they have more people vaping there now than smoking.
