Here's what I've used in my RM2's.

Nichrome Wire 28 Gauge RW0273 - 100 FT 0.71oz Series 60 Resistance AWG

I found myself going back to Kanthal, only because I was so used to the ohms I would reach on it. Nichrome tends to drop the ohms a bit and also they snap if you tighten the screws too much.

Obviously, these are things I could eventually get over. I just have sooooo much Kanthal. Lol

EDIT: I honestly don't know the difference between 60 and 80 resistance. That may just be the problem I was encountering?

I know I am not helping at all, but I don't use Nichrome for two reasons
1. After a few days of using it I begin to have sore throat issues that doesn't go away until I quit using it. This is something that you will have to determine yourself since everyone has varying levels of sensitivity to it.
2. Nichrome just doesn't hold up nearly as long as Kanthal IMO. After a couple of weeks of using and dry burning nichrome it ALWAYS pops the coil during dryburn at the worst possible time.
With Kanthal(esp 28-26G and lower) I have never popped a coil, ever! One of my drippers has a 0.7ohm 28G microcoil that has been going for over 1.5 years, it's resistance has never gone up or down either. That coil will live in there until it dies, which may be never.

I've been using nichrome 80 for quite a while now. Going by memory, the number associated with the wire has to do with the percentage of nickel. The higher the number the more nickel the lower the electrical resistance.

Personally I chose it for 2 reasons. First is because of the lower resistance, I get more wraps per ohm on my coils. The second reason is that it heats up quicker. I'm not positive about the second reason, I think it's just the lower resistance but it seems to be more responsive.

I get bored before my coils go bad but I have one dual coil setup I've been running for 4 months. If I do a dry burn with nothing in the coil I always make sure I do it on a low battery. Nichrome tends to be more responsive due to the lower resistance and you can easily melt the wire off the post with a fresh battery. I run with 26g and haven't had a lot of problems with it. Which is a good thing because I have a lifetime supply LOL. :)

I'm happy with my dual 12's. 12/13 wrap 1/16th ID and 2mm (XC132) ReadyWick. YMMV

Edit: I get mine from Kidney Puncher and they sell some flavors in 250ft rolls. They give some explanation with their product description and Ive been happy with their quality as well.

I'm with X-Puppy and use it on my drippers mostly because it seems to heat up/cool down faster and my drippers don't heat up.

I grabbed a bunch of coil building information from everyone's posts here, threw it into Excel and added it to my sig line, there is some information on 80 but I haven't found much on 60. There was to much information to validate it all so YMMV.
