Hello, im not sure if this is the right place to post this to, but, I have bought a Starre tank, it has a 0,25 ohm atomizer in it. The problem is, that im not sure if it is kanthal or nickel. Im vaping on a mechanical mod, so nickel would be dangerous to vape. Is there a way to tell if its nickel or kanthal? The atomizer doesnt say whether its kanthal or nickel. I cant buy new ones yet because they cant arrive at my place because of things going on in my country. I dont have any packages or anything so I cant look which one it is from that.

Why you think vaping on mech on nickel could be dangerous? From a physical point only, if i remember correctly nicrome has a lower melting point, but you will not reach this if you have a wick with proper saturation.
Personally i prefer Kanthal, i think the oxide from nicrome could potentially be more harmful, but it seen to be safe.
One thing you should take care is if your mech setup can withstand +50W that can be dissipated on the coil. You need a battery that must have capacity to withstand at least 16A.

In the end you could also try to rebuild the coils. I got Kanthal A1 at wires/hardware store, and paid it much more cheaper than from online vaping stores. Kanthal is very accessible and has a lot of non vaping appliances, so you can easily find it on hardware stores.

Your 0.25 coil is Kanthal. A Ni200 coil would have a much lower resistance probably around 0.15

If you are using a mech you should be a bit careful, you could potentially produce 70 watts of power with an amp draw of 16-17 amps on a fresh 18650 battery. I hope you have decent batteries that will handle that amp draw.

You would be better off using a regulated box mod to control your watts/volts, and you'll probably get a better vape to.

No, the starre has 0.15 nickel, 0.25 nickel, 0.5 kanthal, 0.25 kanthal atomizers. Like I said, ive been building for quite a while, ive tried every ohm between 0.08 and 1. I know ohms law, I know how much my samsungs can pull, I think they were 25 or 30 amp, theyre also in parallel which increases the amp limit, or so ive heard, not entirely sure though. One of these samsungs can easily handle 0.25. I have also tried regulated mods but theyre not my thing, I like to push my limits, not limit myself. Sorry but ffs, im not looking for people telling me how to use mods, I was only looking for an answer for my question, thanks anyways.
