well, hold on tight! something is bound to give! ;)

Has for me. Got some AO coming from someone on another thread. Thanks Dr. Anyway, till that gets here, haven't used anything but the ni-foam since we got it. Thanks Tibs. Love the stuff. For me the only down side is after several dry burns and recoiling, it starts to get crumbly. I would order more if it was available at a decent price. I guess the key was to get a tight coil on the wick, w/o cutting into it. Easy set-up on the rsst.

Sniffle, Pm me if you need ss rope, have plenty.

Just a quick follow-up after using BJ's technique (foam around the base of the AO White wick) for a few weeks on one RSST; Works extremely well for keeping the wick well saturated with juice, even without doing the "Genny tilt" to keep from getting dry-hits. I've run about four tanks of DIY Gorilla Juice through it and it's stellar.

My only complaint is that I can't do my usual quick dry-burn between tanks. My old method was just holding the PV horizontally with the juice on the bottom (so the wick wasn't in the juice) & firing the puppy with a new battery and letting the coils glow bright red until the crud burned off the wick/coil. Now, the thing holds so much residual juice in the foam/wick that it takes forever to get to the point where its all burned off and the wick starts glowing.... I guess I could just pull the wick & coil out & rinse them off & dry-burn, but I'm lazy (and don't want to break a wick). Small price to pay though.... When it comes time to re-coil my other Gennies, I'll probably wrap them too.

I run water thru it, then dry the coil/wick with some tissue. Then I fire it, the little water in the wick boils, loosens the crud, then it gets red hot and burns off and wick is white again. Refill with juice and ready to go for a week. Have not removed a Ao wick to clean it yet and have not broken one yet.:)

i just had a pm from silverbullit who is using the nickel foam sleeve method for his ceramic wicks. he reports no difference between the fc2000 and aow performance when both are set up with this method.

bj, mikepetro - do you have any fc2000 left to set them up with the foam? if sb is right it would help tremendously since the bon stones are no longer in stock in most places.

I've got a foam setup with a broken piece of AO in the top and it works as good or better than a single piece of AO.

Found a couple of gennies that still had LC2000 in them. Sleeved them, and yes, mucho improvement.:)

Doesn't remove the taste of cement I always get with the LC2000.

Ahhhh, thats the perfect descriptor, I too tried FC200 with the foam, and it did help a lot with juice flow, but it tastes harsh. Guess I am just too used to the AO.
