Thanks guy's. I live up here in Minnesota where Mayo has their headquarters so that's what I have to deal with. While Mayo is good for most things, a person doesn't want to utter the word V-A-P-I-N-G as it will be met with a chorus of Anti (ANTZ) vaping rhetoric and never get any useful information on the subject after that (even from Cardiologist), so I thought to come here and ask YOU. I have alot of confidence in getting questions vaping related answered truthfully and without any bias in regards to health and safety. When in doubt, I will come here and ask the pro's.

Oh I forgot to mention, high blood pressure just vaping a little more than normal with my normal mg.

I get hot which i think is from high blood pressure, kinda makes you feel warmer.. You can feel your skin getting warm when your maxing out on nic.. At least I do. But then the headach is there if I go too far..

People react differently though depending on their body.. You may feel something totally different. That's why they give a list of different symptoms.

I see your latest post.. Well that would be good if it wasn't, but it is possible. You may have a lot going on and it just pushed your heart far enough to show a problem.

I really don't think I was OD'd on nic as my head was clear as a bell, no headache or signs one would attribute to OD'ing.
That, and the fact that the half-life of nic in the body is about two hours, while your symptoms lasted what, 12 hours or more, makes me very skeptical that nic caused them.

Thanks Rossum. This isn't the first I've been in the hospital this year (and the year is not over), 2 for A-fib and 2 for High Blood Pressure (since Jan. 12). I only average 3.5 to 4ml per day so I didn't think too much of it. Maybe I should even though I'm at 6mg/ml Unflavored ?? Man I hope not !!!!

True the nic shouldn't be around that long. But it doesn't rule out a possibility of nic triggering it. Since nicotine is known to trigger atrial fibrillation or other abnormal rapid heart rhythms.

I don't mean to be saying stuff but it should be known that it is possible. We don't know 52s medical condition or history, many medical problems can complicate things, so I will send a warning into the breeze.

As long as you don't overdue the nic you got from smoking cigarettes it should be the same effect as the cigarette. (Its one contributing factor of the whole blood pressure problem NOT all of it.) But with liquid nicotine you have the control to make it as strong as 20 cigarettes in one.

Caffiene is a stimulant and can cause a similar heart problem in at risk individuals if they get too much

Smoking causes higher rates of blood pressure we know. The point with vaping is that we remove many harmful carcinogens which is better. Many of us also work to lower our daily nicotine intake some. Further improving health concerns.

Didn't mean to scare you, and you seemed fine with it. So just sharing some possibilities.. OT and I'm done.

Anybody find out the equivalent of nic per unfiltered cig's as opposed to vaping liquid nic ? Last I heard it was about 18mg/ml of juice to equal a pack of cigarettes, but I read that last year on some forum (not here). I started at 12mg/ml in Aug. last year, then up to 30mg/ml in about September last year and worked down to my 6mg/ml and all the while never using more than 4.5ml per day. Maybe the damage was already done before I even started Vaping.

There's nothing really accurate for the broad range of vapors. Your atomizer, draw style, Wick, and power levels dramatically change nicotine absorption levels. You could say how many ml of of what mg juice. That would get you closer. So 1ml of 18mg or 5?

If your using Rayon it increases nic absorption by up to 25-30%.. I Had to go down from 12mg to 8mg for an adv otherwise I got nic'd out as I called it. Simply by changing the Wick my nic absorption Increased that much. I vaped 12mg for a year with no problem.. Not with Rayon!

Bah, another youngster with no real tolerance to nic!

Did Not Know That. Glad I still use KGD for my Lemo's and Cthulhu V2's, though I do use Sally's for my Magma's (Lovely, Simply Lovely). I will try some ECX and lower my nic down to 3mg/ml hoping to get the same TH as now with RTS/MBV at 6mg/ml. I just can't imagine NOT Vaping though. That would be a hard one for me to swallow.

Only you can really tell what's going on in your body, keep an eye on how it makes you feel.. See if you notice feeling anything different on the higher nics, it may be nicotine rearing its head in an odd way you wouldn't normally connect with nic od.

The nic may not have anything to do with your problems, but imo a small amount of nic makes a difference. Going from 8mg to 9mg will give me more of a buzz through the day. 8mg I don't get buzzed. So even one or two mg lower could be enough for your happy place. From 6 to 5 mg is a 16% reduction.

Trial and error is the only way we don't have vast studies on vaping.

When I was doing Cigars I would inhale all the time and never think twice about it (young and dumb I guess).
It's also a curse. Take away my nic for two hours (other than when I'm asleep) and I start to question my dedication to the Non Aggression Principle.

Boy Howdy I hear That I Do

I just whipped up a 12ml batch of 3mg/ml Unflavored/Menthol 10:1 50/50 MBV cut from 6mg/ml with some 50/50 PG/VG mix.

Edit: This lighter mix just barely gets it. TH about Zero, Zilch, Zip, Nadda. Gotta try some ECX if TH better than RTS/MBV.

Edit #2: My Irregular Heart Beat Finally straightened it's self out it seems. That was making me a bit, How do I say, Militant.

Lol

That line cracked me up!

Yeah there's a definite chemical taste from manufacturing.

Higher nic does really make the flavor of it stronger. So its easier to tell the differences for sure. Just only a few vapes at a time. :vapor:
I hear what you're saying, but I personally don't think it's byproducts from manufacturing, but the actual nic taste itself.

For one thing I get it with everything, and e.g. nicselect is really really clean atleast on paper. Second, chemnovatic too...

If you think about it, then what is the properties of highly alkaline tastes; chemically, soapy + irritating to the tip of the tongue... E.g. dilluted ammonia or hydro-peroxide, with similarly scaled alkaline properties as nic isn't nice either...

Maybe i'm wrong, but I don't really think so though :)

Sorry to hear that and hope you feel better now, 52anddone :)

Anyways, in my experience, when I get nic-sick, then my heart-rate goes up and I get nauseous for about an hour afterwards...

You don't have to up your nic at all, and many doesn't when testing, but it was just something that I myself really found very productive in getting to know the actual taste of nic in itself and of course the differences between brands. Likewise, as I said, direct lung inhales, for me, gives also a much more complete flavor profile. I get the better picture of the taste after about 2-3 secs into the drag, on a 4-5 sec drag, which mtl for me often don't replicate.... Maybe it's just me, but that's just my experience.

Before I made that test, then I only could differentiate the tobacco, pepper, vg/pg-sweetness-muting-effect and throat-hit aspects of the nics, but now that I know the taste of the nic in itself, then I can much better pinpoint that vague taste in my usual 3mg unflavored mix also, which I had bigger problems with before that.

To me, the actual taste of nic resembles something along the lines of some alkaline sodium-hydroxide corrosive unpalatable chemical taste or something. Of course, the tobacco notes that can still be there are fine, but raw nic is some poison in plants used to protect them from bugs or something I believe, and that posion of course isn't tasting like good tobacco or anything, but is just chemical tasting, atleast to me...

Btw, some professor also once described the alkaline taste, to be a function and not a taste, but of the 'common chemical sense', since an alkaline taste is chemically irritating to the tongue(tip of tongue)... I'm guessing that i'm very sensitive to this irritation of the tastebuds on the tip of the tongue, since i'm e.g. also very sensitive to sour and other tastes in real life and generally am extremely picky...

In conclusion, don't do anything you don't feel comfortable with, mate! :)

Thanks mhertz. I've got to re-read all these posts to be sure that I don't miss anything, what with all that's been going on I'm a bit dis-connected and not hitting on all cylinders, but I'm gett'in there. I was contemplating raising my nic level at one point in time so as to be vaping less overall throughout the day, but now I might have to put that notion on the back burner. I never have gotten Nic Sick once, and I Direct Lung Inhale about maybe 15-20% of the time as it is, so I don't know. Anyways, Thanks for the reply. :thumb:
