congrats on your plunge into DIY and welcome to the thread jeapa :)

The best thing you can do IMO is put everyone else's feedback out of your mind for now and just feel out our nic, mix carefully, try it unflavored side by side with your ECX, mix up some identical recipes using the two nics, and give it some time, it often takes me days if not weeks to feel like I know a nic/flavor. Then come back and give us your feedback, because that's ultimately all that matters for you!

Despite the fact that we all play nice in here there are many different opinions on each nic; I for one as a primarily unflavored vaper love the MFS and it seems like Jimi D. is in love these days as well lol ;) As much as I praise xtreme vaping, wizard ice and ECX I get a little bored using them unflavored :) Give it a chance!

Thanks a ton Cyprus. The MFS will definitely get used and hopefully I will like it. I am learning how subjective taste is as I have ordered plenty of juices that people raved about and they taste like crap to me. It took me a bunch of wasted money to realize I don't like to vape complex or tobacco flavors. It seems weird to me that a person can smoke for 25 years and hate the taste of tobacco... I never liked menthols either... I was a Marlboro light person... But now i enjoy a nice cool minty vape...Go figure

About a week into using WL Ice for flavored vapes, and I am amazed. I can go to less than 5% flavoring with some flavors I was using at 12% or more, and there is no more taste competition from the nic. To me, anything that allows me to use much less flavor and still be enjoyable is a very good thing. I have what I would consider a healthy mistrust of flavors in general, from a purely what-are-the-inhalation-effects standpoint. But I just got RY4 Type 1 from WL, and that at 5% with about .5% tobacco absolute blend is just delightful. I know RY4 is supposed to be caramel-vanilla-like, but this is more like Chinese melons. Very light and pleasurable.

But I'm with Cyrus: Ice would get boring for me unflavored. I need that bite. regular WL fills that bill nicely, as does RTS or ECX, and especially Box Elder. But to have a white canvas to really explore recipes is a very good thing.

The issue is most tobacco flavoring really tastes nothing like a burned tobacco. I was in the same boat as you until I finally found a couple tobacco flavorings I liked. If your up to trying some flavors out the VZ super concentrated line has a few that are awesome like black and mild, island tobacco and a new fav of mine old captian. Real cig is good to cuz it kinda adds that "ashy" taste but in a good way if ya know what I mean. I like these because your only using 2-3% flavoring compared to 10-20% I used to have to use.

I also found that I like several fruits better now by adding a drop per 10 ml of menthol just to add a hint of cooling. Koolada would do the same thing I am sure. I am always skeptical when people say "tastes just like a X cig" because your missing the main flavor which comes from burning of the tobacco.

I ordered some ICE and look forward to comparing it to others I have tried. I liked the ECX and the VZ I recently tried seems to be really close if not the same thing.

Great thread. Thanks, all. Does WL just service the e-cig crowd? Or are they a general lab as well? Cause if they just do e-cig nic, they don't seem concerned with pending fda ruling what with moving & all. Just curious.

I'm not sure what their business model is or their percentage of sales for non-vaping purposes but they have 150 and higher mg/ml nic that is for sale only to registered persons/institutions. Copied from their site:

Sale of this product is Restricted to registered Educational, Industrial, and Medical facilities.

I have several tobacco juices that I revisit from time to time just to see if my tastes have changed or the juice has gotten better. I am definitely open to trying some more I just got tired of wasting money on flavors that are just collecting dust. I have Heavenly ( a Ry4), a Marlboro flavor from MFS, and a few other samples. I just might try the ones you have mentioned. Thanks.

I just made up my first DIY juices. I made up 2 batches of a Carmel cap recipe and the only difference was the nic base. One had 18 mg 75/25 vg/pg from MFS and the other had 18 mg 75/25 vg/pg from ecig express. Both juices came out great, but I prefer the juice with the ecig express nic base. It is smoother and I think that I can actually taste the nic in the juice with the MFS base. It isn't a strong taste, but it is noticeable. I can imagine that the taste and slight harshness of the MFS nic would be less noticeable in a tobacco flavored juice.

I've been playing around with RTS nic - I bought a bunch of different nic bases and am planning to compare them all unflavored - but before I do, I want to vape 2-3 clearos full of mixed juice (recipes I'm familiar with) using each . .so i can really get a feel for the nic base.

My initial impression is that RTS is not as unflavored as regular WL - but is less flavored than MFS. The RTS does not seem to impact the end flavor of my recipes - at least not much - but it does have a bit more TH than WL regular. It does give me a bit of chapped lips - but not as bad as MFS does. So far, the WL nic is the only one that doesn't seem to irritate my lips and throat - I can vape 10ml per day of WL juice with no chapped lips or sore throat.

I have a 14mg nic base made with XTreme Vaping nic steeping that I will try next- I can't wait to try this one just based on how clear it looks. And, of course, everything I've heard about it being expensive but the best, yada, yada. Very excited to try it out.

The last nic I'm waiting for is WL Ice.

Anyone know if you can trade Nic on classifieds? Can't remember ever seeing any there...

Got some 60mg 120ml reg wiz with PG (not even opened) a few weeks back. Not really sure why I got it as I'm pretty sure at this point that I prefer the VG base.

I would like to know the answer to this also. I have about 750ml of 36mg 50/50 from MFS that I would like to either sell or trade.

Ha! Me, too. I've been searching the rules and past classifieds. I think there isn't a rule against it - although I only found 1 post in the sold classifieds offering nic base. I read the rules of the classifieds and the classified blog and whatever else I could find . .but didn't see anything prohibiting offering nic base in the classifieds . .as long as it's not more than 200mg in strength.

Yes you can sell it on the classifieds---most people are hesitant if its in glass worrying about potential breakage--or just spilling in general--- thats why you don't see more of it put up. I've sold many flavors that didn't suit me and one package that was wrapped perfectly well was pounced on and destroyed before the guy even got it. Only one in quite a few but still a possibility.
