I definitely think that I am taking in more nicotene. I vape in the house and I catch myself carrying my PV around vaping constantly. Ideally, someone should come up with one on a cute chain to wear!! I'd probably buy it! I've been vaping since mid March. My brother got me hooked!! I feared this would happen. I vape in the car, in the house, walking.....everywhere!!:vapor:

The calculations of nic from a pv and an analog sometimes gets complicated due to the fact you only absorb between 30 to 40% of the nic in a pv. So here is my rough estimate based on your consumption.

Analog 1 mg per cig X 1 pac or 20 cigs would = 20 mgs of nic a day
PV 18 mgs per ml X 2 = 36 mgs of nic - 21 = 15mgs of nic

So in affect you are getting about 15 cigs a day's worth of nic.

The missing part of the equation is that the absorption rate of nicotine is not 99% like it is with a cigarette. They make them that way on purpose.

The truth of nicotine absorption when using a pv is somewhere between 10 and 40 percent. Lets just use 40% for the absolutely worst case scenario. Personally I believe the truth lies in between the two extreme numbers.

If I smoked a pack a day at 1.4 mg. Thats 28 mg of nicotine.

4ml of juice at 18mg at 40% is 28.8 mg.

Thats quite a lot of vaping at the worst case scenario. That being said, I let my body tell me when I've had enough nicotine, or not enough as you will just know. It is really hard unless you get into the highest mg levels, and heavy vaping to actually use more nicotine than when you smoked and even there I have my doubts. I'd honestly expect people that use very high nicotine levels, and who are heavy vapers to also have been heavy smokers. In either case, I can tell you that I feel so much healthier after the switch, there is no doubt in my mind, the pv is by far the better alternative.

All I know is I was smoking over a pack a day of Marlboro Light menthols and when I started vaping a week ago I realized VERY quickly that the 36mg juice was killing me. I was having palpitations and rapid pulse. This was only vaping four or 5 puffs a few times an hour.

I had to cut down to 18mg just to be able to vape as much as I needed to to combat the oral addiction.

I was just the opposite; I had to vape 24 and 36 to keep from smoking. Then, over time cut back to 18 and 12. Like someone else posted....let our bodies tell us what to do.

Most of us enjoy vaping more than smoking so we do hit the PV more than we did a cigarette; so we adjust

Thanks for the links, great info. I was just thinking about this since making the switch a few hours ago. I find I am puffing non-stop. I do not crave a analog, just need to find the right puff plan versus the hourly analog of old.

Prepare for several days of little to no sleep as your body adjusts. Nicotine without all the additives feels a lot like caffeine use.

My first week with a PV, I was vaping non-stop all day long. I was sleeping 4 hours a night and wasn't waking up tired at all.
