First the question. I know I have seen a thread that touches on this, so please feel free to provide a link if you know where it is.

I am vaping approximately 2ml per day of 12mg juice. As I understand it, that's 12mg per ml, so I'm vaping 24mg of nicotine daily. I was smoking a pack a day of Camel Lights, at around .7mg of nicotine per cig, so 14mg per day. The problem is, I don't know what percentage of the nicotine I am actually receiving from either. Am I taking in more nicotine now than when I was smoking?

(Bear in mind that it is my intention to mix my liquids down to 6mg nic. in the future, I just need to place an order)

On to the comment. Since I received my e-cig a month ago, ALL of the smokers in my life have expressed interest. So far, 1 girlfriend (There's only one:laugh:), Mom and Dad of girlfriend, 1 co-worker, and 1 friend have already made the switch. I have another 2 friends and 1 co-worker who are on the verge of placing orders. Smokers have been desperately waiting for this technology and they didn't even realize it. I didn't realize it, but now I do, and I'm glad. Thank you for letting me gloat!

You wont absorb the 12ml - you didn't when you smoked either - thats what they put IN it, but you get a small percentage of that. There IS a post around that gives approximate percentages of what gets absorbed but I can't find it either
As for are you getting more..well maybe. I dont know how much you were getting from your cigs (and you probably don't either) but you aren't getting all that other crap the cigs gave you; and can we even believe what was on the packet? I do wonder about that; they SAY its xxmg nic and xx tar but was it more? Or less? No way to tell really.
If youre worried about ODing on nic, its very rare. Nic is a good self-limiter, like when you drink too much coffee (or energy drink) and get the shakes, too much nic will give you headaches, upset tummy, and rapid heartbeat. Most people lay off it at that point.
If you jsut want to KNOW - which i totally get - then I'm sure someone will be able to link the thread for ya.
Welcome btw :)

Don't really get the whole "gotta cut my nic intake" thing, but as long as you're vaping, I'm good with it.

Yes, there is the Vaping Prophet phenomena. The prophet researches and obtains a PV and shows it to his/her circle of fellow smokers. Some accept immediately and follow. Some come around more slowly. Some curse the prophet's name and spit at him/her. The PV prophet is calm & forgiving because he understands and has his/her soothing nicotine. But the PV prophet's life is never the same.

Good luck on your journey. I have converted 20 on my path. May your path be as fruitful.

Salient, evangelize brother! Decent people feel the need to share good things. It's beautiful, in a way.
I just took the old pontoon boat in for it's seasonal conditioning this morning and my mechanic was real enthralled with my chuck as he puffed away on his discount cigarettes. He wants me to bring him as much info as I can when I come to pick up my boat.
So far I've gotten 4 people that I know of to switch and many that I haven't followed up on interested.

There are a few reasons I would like to cut my nicotine intake. First, nicotine is a poison, and I'd like to put less of it, ideally none of it, in my body. Other than my (now defeated) addiction to analogs, I live a very healthy lifestyle (I stay pretty well clear of caffeine, processed foods, etc.) Cutting nicotine out seems like a natural next step.

Second, I LOVE VAPING, and I'd like to do it all the time (more than I ever smoked) without fretting over nicotine levels.

:lol:Well said!!! I am happily educating those who desire education. And a few who may not desire it, but need it nonetheless! :headbang:

Welcome btw :)

Random (and completely unscientific) web searches have indicated that "absorbed nicotine" can be around 1mg per cigarette. With eJuice, the nicotine content on the label reflects the amount of nicotine in the mix, not absorbed nicotine, and I'm very curious to know how much per mg I am actually absorbing.

Yes, nicotine is a GREAT self limiter. I learned that the first I had my 510!:D

I TOTALLY just want to know! And thanks for the welcome.

There are a few reasons I would like to cut my nicotine intake...

I knew a wise woman who tried to teach me when I was young and too dumb to learn from her. I remember hearing a couple of things from her before her passing that apply.

"A man without any vice may be nice, but he's a complete bore."

"Ya' know, these health nuts are going to be in the hospitals dying of nothing someday."

Though she passed on as a young girl in her early 80's and I never got to show her how much I had learned, she died a happy woman.

So, getting healthy is great, but do it for better enjoyment of life, not for the act itself.

(From the guy who's shed a wife, 60 pounds, and a long smoking habit in the last 2 years and enjoying life like a kid again.)

Thanks Hoosier, she sounds like a real character. I swear those two lines could have been taken straight out of the mouth of my late Grandma.

I didn't mean to give the wrong impression. I have vice, but a few years ago I decided to mitigate my indulgences by cutting out other behaviors that were unhealthy and/or didn't contribute anything to my enjoyment of life. I am a better person for having made that choice, heck it's the very mentality that finally brought me to this forum. So I think we're on the same page.:toast:
