Hey guys I was wondering what the shelf life of an UNOPENED SEALED 500ml. of 100mg. Nicotine is if I don't leave it in a freezer, but put it in a dark, cool place away from light? I wanted to purchase one of these from Wizard Labs in preparation for a potential "doomsday" on nicotine bans by the government. Their site says that it has a shelf life of 12-18 months... is it possible that because it is unopened and stored properly, it could last at least up to a few years?

Wizard Labs has a best by of one year on their containers. They ship in plastic containers so they won't break.

They do recommend the freezer + glass bottles method for long term storage. Emailed them a few days ago about it and got this:

The best advise I can give for long term storage is to split any large volume of solution into smaller, amber glass bottles with very little airspace at the top and a tight fitting cap.
Then store in the freezer, and only remove and use one bottle at a time.
If kept in this way, the unopened bottles of solution should remain fresh and usable for an indefinite time.

Freezer may not be the easiest solution but it does seem to be the best when thinking in long term. Given the relatively cheap cost of glass bottles, to me its worth the investment.

It seems like the freezer is the best solution... How about this then.. Can I leave the unopened bottle of Nicotine somewhere dark (not in freezer) for lets say a year and THEN open it and put them into bottles and put them in the freezer? Would that be pretty much the same as just putting them into glass bottles in the beginning and into the freezer? I definitely am going to be buying Amber bottles with the Polycone caps to insure that all my solutions will be sealed well.

I know this seems like such an odd question since I could probably just do that from the beginning, but I just don't think leaving my nicotine in the freezer would be plausible at the moment. Sorry for making this difficult and Thanks for all the help

Anyone know where I can find good amber glass bottles for longterm storage of nicotine? Not sure what kind of caps I should be looking for.
Do you guys transfer your nic base to glass as soon as you get it? I just got some nic from Wizard Labs and it's still in the plastic, I've been thinking about transferring it to glass.

Our HDPE white bottles are flame cured on the inside and the manufacturer states 6 months before leaching occurs. Probably a few more months if you freeze the bottles.

That quote is from RTSVAPES.

I transfer to glass when i get it and then to the freezer. I didn't do that with the first bottle i bought, back in July, but it was only 120ml and used up within a couple months.
RTS has blue cobalt, WL has amber. There are even bottle places, but they usually cost more on shipping - though the bottles can be cheaper.
The freezer is the best for long term storage - no frostbite :)
