“It has yet to be shown that any drug produces changes in the brain different from those produced by many innocuous substances and events. The effects of nicotine on the brain are similar to those of sugar, salt, exercise, and other harmless substances and events.”

I appreciate it being posted, although yes, it is older, and I have to say I have a hard time taking seriously anyone who uses the words "Sugar on the brain." LOL, it's a pet peeve of mine. Unless you actively open your skull (think: trepanning or something) you can't get "sugar on the brain." You can have glucose, which is what I think your body "converts" sugar to, and that can have an effect on the brain, but sugar is not "on" your brain and etc.

I also have mixed feelings about the addictiveness (or not) for any person, because I think everyone's brain is a bit different, and reacts differently to different substances, but IDK.

I will say vaping, I can certainly go a lot longer without vaping that I can smoking. So there has to be some effect. What that effect may be, well, IDK but after going through smoking Detox, well there are plenty of other substances in tobacco that I WAS addicted to, or at least my body was informing me that I was, based on how I felt even though I was ingesting nicotine aplenty. Etc.
