If you're not getting a headache, getting too jittery, or otherwise feeling bad from the nicotine content, you're doing fine. If you find you are craving cigarettes far too much and aren't experiencing any of those things, you should try upping your nicotine intake.
Once you've reached a comfortable happy medium and no longer crave the cigarettes much at all, THEN you can try reducing your nic content little by little. If the cravings come back, return to the higher level.
It won't be so important down the road. You'll find reducing the nic level is far easier after you've been away from cigarettes for a good length of time. It's far more than the nicotine that you are addicted to in the cigarettes.
Mind you, if you don't feel like reducing your nicotine level, that's okay, too. This is just if you want to.
