I've been vaping for 3 weeks now. Since last night I haven't been getting any TH or flavor. I've been inhaling just the vapor. The results are the same with all my atomizers w/tanks, and with my cartomizers. Although one of my cartomizers just tastes like yucky filler. I have a really strong flavor Ocean pipe 24 mg 50/50 mix. When I first got it, it had a strong flavor and a huge TH.
I washed my atomizers with boiling water and left them to dry for a whole day, still same result.
Brushed my teeth, and gargled with Listerine.
And tried menthol flavor, yeah I can feel the coolness menthol, but no TH.
I'm really thinking about an analog now! what should I do?

Well everybody goes through a no taste period. But if I wanted more flavor and TH and would not use 50/50. I would use 80PG/20VG which is what I use.

I also do not use atomizers. Nothing sucks worse for vaporizing and flavor than a gunked up atomizer with baked on residue on the coil. I use cartos with thin juices and keep them damp to avoid singeing (singe is bitter like burnt toast). And I switch to a new carto after running about 20ml through (which for me is a week to 10 days, but I vape 2 cartos so I get twice that amount of time). And all of the cartos I use work easiest with thin juices, which is also why I use 80PG/20VG.

Also I avoid all juices that drop flavoring sediment which gunks up attys and cartos quicker.

And you have to smell the vapor. Your tongue can only sense sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami (msg). Everything else is aroma.

Also flavor/aroma stealing are hot beverages, alcohol, food tastes or smells that are hanging around, stuffed nose, ventilation that blows the vapor away so you can't smell it

Going to a convenience store, getting your goods, and sticking it in your mouth as you walk out can feel really nice, because that's what you did with your smokes. It might fulfill the "I need to go out and get my fix" craving. Also you do need to switch juices.

For this reason, if you're really about to run out for a pack of smokes, I suggest going to Walgreens (or wherever sells them for you) and getting a disposable Blu. The change in flavor, the automatic function, the buying your fix at a real store, the small cigarette size... it might be all you need.

Smoking cigarettes for long periods of time destroys the functions of your taste buds and impairs olfaction (sense of smell). Everyone is different, but in a month or so (tops) you should begin to taste things better, including food and beverages (i.e. not just E-liquid). Stick with it as numerous rewards will be gained from your smoking cessation in due time. Good luck!!

Really glad this thread was started, I thought I was going crazy

Also, besides exhaling through the nose, I've found that

1) inhaling through the nose

2) drawing not only into the mouth, gently, but on to the tongue. I roll my tongue up a little bit under the carto and make sure the vapor stream hits it

both seem to help

keep us posted!

Is diminished taste and vapor production a good sign of a gunky carto? I should have listened to the warnings about chocolate juices, I think this carto needs a sand blast :)

A drop in vapor production is a sign. An odd taste like having a penny on your tongue can be another. Noticable change in draw is yet another.

I had stuck a den tek tooth proxa brush thingie in the battery end of a horizontal coil carto with chocolate gunk. The first time it helped alot

then I think I got over zealous and went to far up, and dislodged/jacked up the horizontal coil. Just confirmed this with a dissection, and the coil and wick were gunky

But I will say, after heavy vaping with chocolate and added VG for ~10 days, no burning or singing. kudos to G6 cartos
