No vodka so Tequila will have to do

Tequila is probably a BAD choice to clean your clearos with. It has a LOT of impurities in it other than alcohol (that's where the flavor comes from--the impurities). There are ALL kinds of chemicals and compounds in tequila, and it will probably just succeed in gunking up your clearos worse than they already are.

I'd use distilled water before I'd even consider tequila. And if you can't get distilled water, then tapwater would do in a pinch, but tequila is probably a REALLY bad idea.

Soak them overnight in distilled water and then flush them under pressure with more stisilled water with a syringe like this:



If you just have a few to clean and money is tight, get a few of those tiny "airplane bottles" of vodka at a liquor store--they are cheap and will clean enough clearos to hold you until next payday, I'd think...
