does anyone have any experience using noalox on the threads of their provari? a while ago, when i purchased a reo mini, packaged along was this silverish substance in a baggy. in retrospect, i think this substance was noalox--a substance that, i believe, prolongs the life of aluminum based threading (basically fighting the deleterious effects of oxidation). in passing, on this provari subforum i remember reading someone recommending this product.

has anyone had good experiences with this stuff? is it for the bottom threads or more likely the 510 threading? what exactly does noalox do?

thanks in advance for any feedback.

I use it. Just bought mine at homedepot. I actually had a problem where I was getting some off reading that didn't make sense. I'd install a fresh battery & it would read 4.0 & sometimes my ohm's would also be lower then expected. I just cleaned the threads & added a drop to the terminal & bam..all was normal.

I put some Noalox on my Provari's threads when I first got it a couple of months ago. I intentionally made sure a light film of it was left behind to act as a lubricant. I keep an eye on the threading whenever I change out batteries. I haven't seen a need to apply more.

I had some already for my Silver Bullet. A little goes a long way and the small containerfull will probably last a lifetime. If I don't misplace it.
