Noalox vs No-Ox-Id vs Vaseline?

Which of these 3 works best? In terms of conductivity, oxidation prevention, lube etc..

Any other alternative as Noalox & No-Ox-Id not easily available here?

Or would autosol or polishing just do the job??

Autosol just remove the oxidation. Noalox is a preventive layer. Also searching for alternative. I guess local electricians don't use such stuff. It not cheap.

I just read that Loctite Silver is a good alternative to noalox.... still no idea where to get it locally.

Maybe Im wrong, but isnt loctite for things you dont want to screw on and off again? From the name alone I would not want to lock my threads so tight that I cant take them apart.

Again, Im probably wrong but make sure before you use it on something you want to take apart , such as in changing your battery?

I use Wd40 on my threads, I'm old school....2 drops an wipe clean, and sometimes I use rem-oil that contains Teflon for a nice protective coating. With the d40 everything comes off the threads, i mean clean!

Loctite makes all kinds of chemicals!

Vasoline is ok but it doesn't last long.

The auto stores usually carry the stuff you put on your plug wires -electrolytic grease. Works ok but it doesn't last long either.

I like DeoxIT, they make a protectant kit for cell phones that sells for around $4.95. I've used their gold series for years in electronics manufacturing to treat gold edge contacts. It has good staying power. They may have better even better stuff with silver and such. Just make sure you don't confuse the Deoxant with the protectant, they carry both.

The idea is to create a no oxygen layer around the contact. There is a lot of stuff that can do that. Even a thick grease would work.

I just got Mr McKenic Contact Cleaner from SelfFix DIY store.

There are 2 other brands, but Mr McKenic shows that it won some awards.... hehe

I think one thing that a lot of people overlook is apart from it being an antioxidant, it also contains suspended zinc which helps with the conductivity. So noalox helps to lubricate, prevent and remove oxidation and helps in conductivity. Just my 2c

I'm sorry but what's the purpose the products being discussed?

maybe u guys can laugh at me but I use e liquid as "lube" within the tank. lol

as for battery threads I just use some simple lubricant or wd40..

It's generally used to clean and maintain the screwing threads and electrical contact points found on the PV's body or various other contact points. Almost all mech mods and tube mods make use of the Mod's body itself to form a closed circuit, and the first "weak point" in the circuit is usually at the point where the tubes screw on to other extension tubes or the end cap. Untreated metal such as aluminum has a tendency to oxidize into aluminum oxide, which is far less conductive. This leads to a higher voltage drop/loss and thus poorer vape. Even if your mod is made of brass or ss, noalox is superb for just cleaning up dirt and helping to lubricate.
