I just got my Omega that i ordered from Altsomke.com. While i was looking into the product i kept coming across something called Noalox from what i understand it helps protect the metal. One video i saw the guy said that his Omega came with like a little sample bottle of Noalox so i thought that mine would also come with some but it didn't. So i went to Home Depot and tried to find some there but on luck they don't sell it and no one there even knew what i was talking about.

1) How important is it that i do use Noalox with my Omega?

2) Will my Omega be alright while i use for awhile until i order some online and wait for it to be shipped to me?

3) Would there be any other big chain store in the US that might carry it?

Thanks for you help. :)

NoaLox is important to have if you are running Mods since it will keep your threads from binding up (cross threading, which voids warranties on Mods). It is an anti-oxidant and anti-seizing compound designed to cut the aluminum oxide with suspended zinc particles. Regularly cleaning out your threads (I use a microfiber cloth) and a large apple seed size dollop rubbed into the threads will keep your mod easy to open and change batteries. Wipe off any excess.

You can find it on Amazon and may have some luck at local electrical supply companies. HomeDepot or Lowe's should have it (in the electrical section of the store). You might want to call them and have them check their computer inventory. ;) If not, buy on line at Amazon: Amazon.com: Noalox® Anti-oxidant Compound (4 Oz. Bottle): Electronics

If you can't find that brand, just ask for one with zinc particles. OX-100 or GB OX-GARD is basically the same thing as the Noalox and many report using it instead is just fine (though I haven't used it).

And a great how to video using NoaLox by Amajn:

At my local Home Depot the Noalox was hanging at eye level along with other Ideal brand electrical products like wire nuts and connectors. The small 1/2 ounce tube (in a blue and gray box about 4" tall) was around $2.79. They also had a much larger bottle for several dollars more, but the small tube should be enough to last for a long time.
