So, what's the deal with this Noalox stuff? I bought a tube today after many said I would benefit from using it as my flat top batteries are seeing some pitting. The vape is better for sure but how exactly am I supposed to use this stuff?

I schmered a little on the pos terminals of the battery and tried to keep the rest of the battery top as clean as possible but already everything is getting greasy. How much of this stuff do you leave on? Do you sort of try to rub it in then wife off the excess?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Haha the Rob ain't liking the slimy stuff. I am the last person that can help you my friend but i'll just tell you how I do it to get some bashing from the others on how I do it wrong.

If you ever ordered something from David over at superT that guy LOVES Noalox. He "literally" dips his mods in the stuff it's crazy.

I just put the smallest lil dot on my firing pin which I think is ok and than some on the spring. Not to the point that it's all drained just enough to do it's job.

Certainly this is coming from someone that doesn't even know exactly what noalox is. I just have to use it because Robbel said so lol.

Many of us now are using another product called Deoxit Gold. It chemically protects the metal contacts from oxidation, instead of being a conductive paste, like Noalox is. Deoxit Gold is clear, and thus is much less messy. You can find it on Amazon. It's more expensive, but a little goes a long way.
When I was using Noalox, I would just use a toothpick, and put a tiny dot on the Reo positive contact, and another dot on the top of the spring. I didn't put it on either end of the battery.

i use Noalox on all threads - so on my atomisers. I used to smear a bit on the firing pin of the Reo, but on the gold firing pin, deoxit is cleaner.

Putting a bit of deoxit on both ends of batteries and wiping off any excess is not a bad idea, but really applies only if you run lung-burning low resistance coils. Noalox is a lot cheaper!

So my batteries shouldn't be buttered up and slick like a bar of ivory soap out of the lake after a camp bath?

It goes on the pos pin and the spring? What the? I thought it went on the pos terminal of the battery itself.

OK, so assuming I will be ordering Deoxit Gold (which of coure I will be now), how does one use that product? Ben told me I'm supposed to squeeze a bunch into the palms of my hands, rub it all aound, and then try to hold onto my Reo long enough to get a vape off of it. That about right?

If you get the pen, which I'd advise, you just sort of color the positive and negative contacts, kinda as though you were using a magic Marker. It's hard to see, because it's clear. You don't need much. Wipe off the excess, and it's good to go.

Was it just my pen or does it seem to take forever for the liquid to get to the felt at first? Thought I had a dry one for awhile.

Thats the way I do it.

If you smear it all over yourself, you shoot out of bed when the wife gets in and it's not safe to be outside in thunderstorms.

Something like that!

Is this turning into a "bottle nipple" thread?

And whatever you do, don't ask Papa_L how he does it. Just... don't.
