Another factor to consider is if you are using a tank with pre-made coils with the NC, then you are at the mercy of whatever QC was in place in the factory. Faulty shorted coil, go directly to boom. Significantly lower resistance than spec, lung full of smoke or worse.

I had the NC for a while now. Great vape but I tend to overdrip annoying but not that much of a problem my other tube mech. But since the NC switch is right beside the rda, overdripping and liquid leaking through the air hole quickly gunk up the button making it "arc" or whatnot and create black spot of burn liquid mess the whole thing making the button not firing before a complet disassemble and cleanup. I think the switch is crappy gunk up super easily and misfire. Has anyone tried an alternative switch that would fit. Anyway I just got the Hastur 2S which is much more leak resistant than my other rda having high air hole. So it fine for now.

Considering the purchase of a Noisy Cricket.
My question:
Can I just throw a tank on, for example, a TFV4 with the standard 0.2 ohm triple burner coil, and be done with it, or do I have to use RDA's or a tank with a rebuildable coil?
I don't build my own, don't really have an interest in building my own.
As for dripping ... not a viable option for me. I'm a truck driver, not a desk jocky.

With that Tank you'll blow your face off, it's got a hybrid style connection

What the NC is, is a way to get up to a (relatively) safe 200 watts of of unregulated power out of a mod the size of a box of matches.
You could use it with a tank that used premade coils, but the 510 pin on the tank would have to safe to use with the direct to battery connector on the mod. Also you would need to select a coil head of sufficiently high resistance to match their recommended wattage range.

With series mod's you need a lot of wire, you're pushing over 8 Volts. With premade coils you'll fry them, not enough mass.

What if the pin protrudes but gets pushed in easily? My Horizon Arctic tanks are like that, it sticks out but goes in if pressure is applied

You'll blow your face off, you really, really need to insure with any Mod that has a hybrid style direct to battery connection that the pin will not push or screw in "or" you'll blow your face off.

@DangVape the FDV upgrade kit has a 510 with a floating pin, and an upgraded switch with knurled removal ring, magnets and a smaller negative contact.

Yep, I've got two for two of my Crickets and really like them. I don't have to be obsessive about the 510 pin, run a lot more devices on it "and" big bonus is the copper tube. I actually use the copper tube as a SMPL style tube mod, great kick around mod.

You mean 8 volts, yes thanks I'm aware of that. You didn't properly read what I said, there are pre-made coils out there that have sufficiently high resistance and mass to handle the power.

Doh!!!!!!!!!!
Thanx, corrected.

Yeah, the way I interpret "premade" is stock coils, if you mean buying from coil makers for RTA's that would be true. This needs to be clarified for someone may read that as "hey, my tank I'm running 1 Ohm coils will be fine on a series mod", you know people ;)

damn. i JUST ordered one of these because the seller told me it can handle the TFV4. shyte. i need a mod that will work with this tank since it's the one i have. I don't build/drip nor do I want to...

i guess that means i must get that upgrade kit. feh.

Do NOT use the TFV on ANY direct-to-battery mod.
The positive contact does not extend far enough to ensure safe operation.

I doubt stock coils work with it unless you are using well over 1 ohm even if you got the upgrade kit. If you want to see switch your regulated mod to voltage and crank it up to 8.4 volts. That is what you will get with the Cricket, it's a series mechanical mod for advanced users.

You really should not be using it unless you are either experienced with mechanical mods or willing to dive down that Rabbit Hole. If you're not get rid of it or you're going to end up blowing your face off.

Seriously!

I'd actually like to know where you got it from who said that the TFV4 would work.

Probably from one of the many idiots working in a vape shop somewhere.... I quit going to vape shops over a year ago, because half of em have know clue as to what they're even selling!
