I am looking for a recommendation for an E-Cig setup that I can offer to my father to try. I have been using the KR808d-1 from LeCig and have been happy with it. However, my father has been smoking PallMall non filter for more years than I can count. I doubt the standard E-Cig will have anywhere near the harsh TH that will satisfy him.

I need a 2 piece for him to try as I can't see him being happy with dripping or messing with a 3 piece. Refilling cartos will probably be fine. Once I get him into it he will probably not mind tinkering but I have to get him convince to try it and switch. He has had heart problems and other health issues and haven't been able to get him to quit smoking. Mom has already gone through cancer and even she hasn't completely quit but she will probably be fine once I get her to try the E-Cig as she already uses a neb several times a day and would be used to the vapor thing.

That's a tough one. The only cigarette sized thing I tried was a horrible mall kit. I got an eGo right after that. I doubt there's a cigarette sized kit that by itself will do what you need. That's not to say it's not worth a try. While that mall kit convinced me pretty quickly it wasn't going to cut it, it also convinced me that there might be something that would.

All of the above said, unless your father wants to quit, he's not going to be receptive to any substitute.

Nicotine is the TH. Nicotine and heat. Vapor4Life might have a Pall Mall alike flavor. They have a camel-alike. I like their WOWbacco which is a cocoa tobacco. Their cartos are KR808D-1 and soft-caps. ANd believe be, with 24mg nic he might have TOO much TH on a KR8. KR8's deliver a somewhat hotter hit than most slim ecigs.

My own fave analog-alike is FreedomSmokeUSA Desert Ship - a nutty and somewhat pungent Turkish blend - reminds me and others of the smell of a freshly opened pack of cigs. FreedomSmokeUSA also has a Pall Mall-alike people like. I recommend 70pg/30vg for a good balance for TH and flavor and vapor.

KR808D-1 is about the warmest hit of any slim cig and you can get the best hits with manual batteries in my opinion. I really truly think 24mg on a KR8 will be plenty of TH. And I recommend a KR8 drip tip to use as a mouthpiece of stuffing-type cartos because some cartos like the Vapor4Life WOW ones can get pretty hot.

If you want hotter you have to go to fat-battery models and use low resistance (LR) blank cartos and LR attys on them. That generates more heat so it increases TH. Check out the Riva 510 at Liberty-Flights.com - use Internet Explorer and click the 20% off on the front page. Then pick Riva 510 on the left and look at the lite bundle. If you get it then pick up some Boge 510 standard and LR cartos somewhere else (try LiteCigUSA.net) because I think LF was out of them.

JMO - I got my mom started w/the ego-t. We had the ego and even topping of the cartos was tough since she shakes quite a bit. Not saying the ego-t is right for everyone, but here..I fill a bunch of tanks and all mom does is vape and replace tanks. I got the clear ones so she can see how much juice is left. I actually had ordered the ego set, then purchased the ego-t atty and tanks separately.
like dormouse said the nic mg and the flavors are the actual fine tuning needed one you get a device they'll try!

I was a Lucky Strike non-filter smoker for years. Pall-Malls were actually too "light" for me, so I know about needing that massive hit! What worked for me was an eGo with an LR atty and drip-tip. I know you said he wouldn't want to drip or use a 3-piece, but it's really not that annoying or difficult to maintain. I just keep my eGo assembled and in my pocket, along with a bottle of juice, and when I want a few hits, I pull 'em out, drip a couple drops and then I'm good to go. Then again, Dormouse suggests the KR8, which I've never used; that may very well be the better choice. And I absolutely agree on the 70/30 PG/VG ratio (which I ended up trying on your recommendation, Dormouse - thanks!). I also vape 24mg, though I did try a 36mg and that was nice, if maybe a bit excessive. It might not hurt to get some 36 though, just in case he feels that the 24 isn't doing it for him - if the 24 is good enough, you can always cut the 36.

I hate to stereo type but old guys are all pretty much the same. He isn't going to want to tinker with anything until it works for him. You will need to make sure he has filled cartos prepared and as big as possible so he doesn't have to change them often. I would think an eGo with mega cartos or a Go-Go would be the best bet and a good hard hitting juice like BWB Hunter's blend or Smoke would probably satisfy him but they do need to steep.

Thanks for the info everyone.

I have an ego and some ce2 v5's on the way. Maybe I will get some LR carto's also and then let him try them and my KR's and see what he thinks. I have some BWB Casablanca 18 on the way and some BWB Baco on hand in 24. Also some LeGig tobacoo 24 which gives pretty good TH but not much vapor.

If it's not strong enough I will get some small bottles of the other BWB recomended in 36 and see how much difference there is. I'm kinda stuck on BWB because I liked the flavor on the first try.
