Flavor is pretty much on par with dripping, in my experience. I prefer bottom coil clearos to top coil ones though.

You treat it just like you'd treat a carto tank setup, only since there is no filler in the carto, you don't need
to prime it. Just drop a few onto the coil to get it going.

I had some problems with dry hits, but (with the help of badkolo and other fine folks here on the forums) I eventually sorted
that out.

Excellent! I think I'll try these. Are the flavors less muted than in top coil clearos that use wicks?

Hmmm... Raven doesn't seem to fit my AGR tank. The base is just a hair too wide to seat in the bottom of the AGR.
True, there is a tiny bit of flange still there.
Probably not an issue for most tanks, but to get one in my AGR locking tank I had to take a dremel to it & smooth that edge (just a bit).
A small file should likely work as well.
Definitely worth the effort -- the AGR/Raven combo is awesome! :D

I'm willing to try it, because I really want to like the AGR, but I just detest regular cartomizers. I like the Raven in my X8, but the tank is too small... I would probably be in love completely with the Raven if it did fit the AGR without modification, or if the X8 had a larger tank, but I don't see myself getting out a dremel everytime I need to replace a carto for the AGR... if I'm going to fiddle that much, I'll just jump to a Genesis clone or some other RBT.

You can use the non-flange raven in nearly any tank that can use a standard XL carto. The issue with the tiny ridge only applies to fitting into a locking cap on the tank being referenced. Here is a pic of my raven carto in a bedazzle tank with a lotus drip tip :) The small gap you see is because I am using an air flow controller between the mod and tank.....if I removed it, it would sit flush.

Hey Bad! No need to check anything for me, I was just being incredibly dense!
I didn't realize that both ends of the tank (and the tank itself) were threaded and therefore,
I was totally not doing it right! NOW I see that you remove the bottom cap from the tank,
insert the carto (Boges DO definitely 100% fit now that I know what I'm doing), screw
the bottom+attached carto back onto the tank, then attach the locking base.

Presto! It's amazing what happens when I actually PAY ATTENTION, heh!
Still a shame about the Ravens not fitting, but I hear they DO fit the X8 so I'll try
to pick up one from you guys next month when/if I can afford it.

zip that shouldnt be, ill do some checking for you
if you want to do something yourself if you want to test it out, if you have a dremel you can open the hole on the agr at the top to see if it will then aloow the boge and raven etc..

meanwhile when i get back in ill do some testing for you

ok good to hear, i sized the ravens ot the agr specificaly myself, and i checked and did not make a mistake , the beta agr base lets the raven in and ill show this on camera, the raven fits about 8 tanks now and should be fitting the raven as well, i will do some research, ill speak to youde and see if new runs can be a tad more open like the betas i have which i based the measurements off of in the first place.

no more discussion on this? I want to try these in my AGR and am willing to file them down to fit but, what I want to know is, do they have an issue with dry hits? I read the smoktech fillerless version does...

Everything varies with the person.

I have not had one dry hit with either. YMMay and will V. There is absolutely no way to tell how something will or won't work for you until you try it. Yes, some products are just failures from the get-go. But at this point, these aren't new, and these are not a failure.

Try them. If you like 'em, ok. If you love 'em, great! If ya hate 'em, how much are you really out?

Never buy dozens of anything on someone else's opinion, and you'll be fine.

Get two and try 'em. Let us all know how ya like 'em, or don't like 'em.

After LOTS of help from the nice folks on this forum, I'm totally happy with 'em. I even just ordered a Raven's Nest tank.

I was having problems with LOTS of dry hits. But after lots of trial and error and help from everyone here, I realized it was due
to how I was filling the tank. I'm a klutz and a goof so I can't even remember exactly what I was doing wrong, but I will say that if you've used regular ol' carto-tanks in the past and just "liked" those, you're gonna LOVE these.
