I see no problem with a non smoker vaping however I would HIGHLY recommend not introducing nicotine. I am new here and a new vaper however I am not new to nicotine addiction. I have been fighting it for 40 years as a lot of the folks here have been. I think it would be totally irresponsible of me to recommend anything that could lead to an addiction that is so difficult to beat.

I was never a smoker and started vaping a month ago. I use no nic because it is addictive and I would like to be able to stop when I want.

I love the gear, but not spending the money on it;-} It also does relax me. Sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, a nice vape, and listening to a book on tape is a great way for me to pass some time on a warm sunny afternoon. In bad weather just move it inside without worrying my house will smell like an ashtray.

As for the health going to the vape shop greatly increases my chance of being hit by a beer truck but I have given it some thought and, for me, the risk is worth it. In fact the extra exercise I get walking to get vape supplies might offset the adverse effects, if any, of vaping.

Never being a smoker means that I do not need the nic fix so I can vape only when I want. Currently that is when I am relaxing at home or at the vape store. I don't have the hassle of the public perception of vaping as some sort of smoking.

The bottom line is that it is up to me to decide. If some study is done that shows up some horrible health problem or the government makes it hard to get supplies I probably will stop but for now I am a vaper.

Thanks so much for all the replies , so basically even if i have e liquids with 0 nicotine i can still feel somehow relaxed and calm.

also i might buy 1 bottle with around 8gm nicotine and the rest without nicotine, i have strong will power and doubt i'd be addicted as i will just use it when i really need a stress reliever. I ordered a eGO CE4 T with 650Mah battery.

just need to find cheap e liquid with free shipping

I don't smoke, but I vape at 0% nicotine. Its fun, I like the taste. I mostly do it in my room when I get home from work.

Well, I'm so happy to see that someone else who has never smoked regular cigarettes vapes, too. I have never smoked, and have always hated the smell of cigarettes. I tried vaping, though, as an alternative to snacking at night. I use 0 nicotine, and have been enjoying all the different flavors. I am trying to make my own e-liquid, too. I, also, only do it at home.:)

Looking at your need for a nicotine delivery system, I would suggest a more market stable source of nicotine. Vaping is somewhat unstable at the moment and is experiencing a lot of difficulty in terms of legality and taxation.

What ever your decision, welcome to ECF.

LOL, so I guess the "market stable source of nicotine" would be cigarettes. What a hoot! To the OP, if you believe vaping would be pleasurable or beneficial to you, by all means give it a try, and add a little nic if you like. For me, Vaping is a lot of fun--it is not a burden by any means, and you will not become addicted next week! I'm sorry, I just can't get over the hypocracy of those vapers who don't believe other adults should enjoy the same activity they do.

I was thinking nicotine gum, nicotine lozenges, nicotine misters, nicotine patch, etc.

There really isn't any mention of anything but looking for the effects of nicotine. So why bother entering a scene that is so much more than being just about nicotine.

I don't mind one way or the other who vapes or why, but the OP is looking for the effects of nicotine (or so says the post).

if you believe vaping would be pleasurable or beneficial to you
I'm not going to make any suggestions that vaping is any more pleasurable or beneficial than leading a nicotine free life. It isn't my job to sell or market vaping nicotine to anyone.

It is unfortunate that you didn't bother to ask what I was thinking about in my post and rather jumped to a negative assumption about my intent. My thoughts are based on the worry a ton of us have, will vaping be here tomorrow, will it be cost effective, and what happens if it's not and I've put so very much into it as a method of quitting smoking. While the OP isn't quitting smoking nicotine addiction is a hard thing to put down, so why willingly pick up that addiction if it isn't there already? What then, go to smoking cigarettes, chewing gum, etc.

Nicotine gum, nicotine lozenges, nicotine misters, and the nicotine patch, etc. are all pretty much available sources that aren't going away any time soon. And if all your looking for is the nicotine calm, not a replacement for smoking, what does it matter how you deliver it?

I was pretty much a non-smoker before I picked up vaping and it definitely helped me relax. I've always enjoyed smoking, but I knew how bad cigs were so I never got into them. Hookahs were my thing until I picked up vaping. I run 0 nic juices now and the deep breaths while I take a pull on my vape calm me down like no other. I've run nicotine in some of my juices, but they've made me cough more than relax, guess it just depends person to person.

Indeed, same for me. I like the feeling of a cigarette but because I'm always aware of the cancer that is waiting to evolve I didn't pick it up. Vaping is a great alternative for the same effect.

I have never smoked before and I started vaping just for flavor (0mg Nicotine). Been vaping now for 3 months or so and I love it. Id say do your research and really make sure you want to dive into this world, it can be pretty expensive if you let it (not trying to scare you away). as for your question about stress relief, I think that would be dependent on yourself. I dont use it as a stress relief so cant really say if it is or isnt. If you do start vaping, I hope you love it and best of luck to you! :D

Hi

im no cigarette smoker but i would like to try vaping, i want to know if i can get a relaxed and stress relief feeling if i use e liquids without any nicotine or do i need nicotine in them, because its pointless vaping for only the flavor if it isnt going to have some effect on me.

Thanks
I'm gonna post before I read this thread because I already see where this has the potential of going.
I know first hand what the beneficial side affects of nicotine can be and believe me, there are many of them and they continue to be discovered.
Nicotine is NOT the devil!!! If it helps to enhance ones life then I say go for it. If I or anyone else can get the desired benefits from nicotine rather than from prescription drug then I say more power to you.
OP, if you decide that you would like to vape with nicotine in your e-liquid then I suggest that you start at an extremely low level and see where that gets you.
You know your body, none of us do.
I use nicotine almost entirely because of it's stress relieving ability. And I also just really like it!
Okay I'm gonna go read this thread and see how many folks here are intentionally or inadvertently discouraging you from nicotine and/or vaping.

Well I read the thread and was pleasantly surprised.
I love ECF:vapor:

I tried ALL of these before getting into vaping and I can tell you there is NO real control over the nic intake. They are also no better at delivery than vaping and in the case of gums and inhalers are equal or better. THe patches are a joke and I had more cases of nic overdose using patches than any other method and lots of skin problems from rashes to necrotic tissue sores from the nic killing the skin and sub dermal cells. I wouldn't recomend any of these to a non smoker but vaping is a different animal. Without the nic its not much worse than snacking and even with nic its better than anti anxiety drugs.

I presume you are an adult and you have read up on nicotine and the possible addiction to it. If you have then by all means try vaping and I would start with 0 nic and not go over 6mg. I would rather you start vaping to relax than go to prescriptions drugs which are even more addicting. Good luck and keep up informed.

But, buuuut, if you do nic in drug form, no one will know and you won't be demonized.... but if you vape zero nic, you will be.

I know! That's why I only vape at home and no one knows. I have never smoked and none of my friends or family members smoke. I doubt that they have ever heard of vaping, so I haven't enlightened them. I just happened to learn of it via the internet, and it seemed like something I'd like to try for the flavors (0 nic). I'm just not ready for any criticism.

WOW! Being from California, you should get a lawyer and recover damages, all of that sounds serious, and from a controlled release nicotine patch. Necrosis caused by a FDA approved product is like hitting the lottery, keep us posted.
