If you are determined to try it, I would find a place that sells the disposables cheap.

Having said that, my advice (coming from a 40+ year smoking habit, totally quit within 1 week of purchasing an expensive piece of junk) don't try it. 99.5% of the oldtimers, like me, wish we never started smoking.

Wow, it's a thread like this one that make me realize how much all of us hate smoking. We're more anti-smoking
in some ways than some of the "ban everything" zealots. I think it's because we realize how stupid we all were to start
smoking and do not want anyone to follow our bad example, experience our personal he11s. We're just glad to
have found an alternative that frees us from cigarettes.

OK, I've lurked this thread long enough. I'll add my opinion also.

I smoked for over 20 years, have vaped for about 3 months, and stopped smoking about 2 months ago. I started smoking because I was curious. I couldn't stop. Whatever the reason, I was addicted. Other people I know have had maybe a total of 2 cartons in that same 20 years because they don't have the addictive personality or whatever it is that causes smokers to get addicted.

I also drink, but I don't have the traditional alcohol problem. I drink a little when I feel like it. I got a dozen bottles of rum for Christmas 3 years ago, and just finished the lot off this summer. Most of that was my wife helping.

Which category are you? Nobody knows, but let me toss in a quote: "I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"

What if these things end up getting taxed up the anus, or so heavily regulated that it is more of a pain than you're willing to deal with. That's OK if you don't become addicted to the habituation, but if you do . . . maybe a pack of smokes might be easier. Or, will your next curiosity be to find out what the nicotine is like?

All this is, is a bunch of "what ifs", and some or none could apply to you. Everybody has their own freedoms to make decisions to do what they want, so long as those freedoms don't harm others. I believe that everybody who says "don't do it" is just voicing their concerns of the potential problems that could arise.

Do what you will. Listening to advice is smart, following advice . . . maybe not so much. This above all, unto thine own self be true. Do or do not... there is no try. Don't worry, be happy. Life is like a box of chocolates . . . . A journey of a thousand miles begins with . . . . Did you ever seem to have one of those days when everyone's on your case . . . . Daniel-san, wax off.
