I also started with a blu got sick of how quick the battery runs out and how hard they are to draw from so I picked up a ego twist and smoktech Redux clearos and I am loving it
I got started with Volcano and would definitely recommend their Inferno starter kit, it's really user friendly.
Hi everybody,
My wife and I are both long-term pack-a-day smokers with dreams of quitting. A few months ago she did some research and ordered us a couple of Blu kits. It's been a weird transition but I've cut about %40 and she's cut about %30 of normal cigs since using the Blu. Shortly after we got those I started poking around and found this site. Needless to say I was overwhelmed and confused by the amount of info and the depth of vaping, but I am completely intrigued.
I know the thoughts on Blu around here, and I'm starting to get why. Overall, the Blu has been pretty good. I love the rechargable pack, the battery life has not been a problem, the flavors are decent and the simplicity of use are all great. What I'm starting to hate is the inconsistency of quality and flavor from the cartridges. I recently ordered a hundred bucks worth of Java Jolt and Cherry. The majority of the Java ones don't work properly. I feel like I have to suck till my head hurts to get much out of it. The cherry ones are delicious but the flavor doesn't last very long. I'm really looking to take this to the next step and try to become an almost exclusive vaper, but it's really tough when I'm stuck at work all day with a couple of crappy tasting/barely working cartridges.
All that being said, I cannot wrap my head around the stuff I see here. What's the difference between a 510/joy/ego/atomizer/cartomizer etc etc etc???? Are these brands, are they models? I'm really stuck.
I really want something small, easy, convenient and reliable. I'm also excited to be able to find awesome tasting juices that can be swapped out easily, but I have no idea where to start.
Does anybody have some suggestions on a similar setup to the Blu that allows for more reliable usage and ease of trying new flavors? Sorry for being long-winded and needy. Thanks so much for any help!
Excellent suggestion above for the KGO as a good beginner model. Remember:
Rule of Thumb: generally, the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.
And the Blu is one of the worst models on the market.
Good Luck
Disagree.
The Volt mini with a CE3 has excellent performance. Granted, if you are looking for an all day battery, you won't get it but they stay at a regulated 3.7 volts and the Ce3 has amazing vapor/taste/th. you'll need a couple batteries to get you through the night but the performance is just as good as a bigger battery, just less life.
If you want the cig-a-like experience and are expecting great performance, grab a Volt mini. I have a few and chqrge a couple at a time and the vape experiece is great.

Good idea.I'm going to use the Boge cartos on my Blu battery for now and see how I like the results.
eGo fires @ 3.3 volts while the Kgo fires @ 3.7- Kgo Starter Kit about $40-$42 has been in the market over a year/ proven and is the same size as the eGo. Also Hoosier sells the original brand name Kgo SLB= non knockoff.I think I might go for an Ego battery and try using the cartos with that before trying to advance into anything more complicated. Right track???
I'm not sure, maybe they didn't fill them all the way? Or maybe you are chain vaping?I didn't have any issues with the tobacco ones they have, but when they were sold out I tried coffee, and they tasted burnt from the get go. That was part of the reason I switched, other than the terrible battery life. Two videos if you wanna see. I combined both of them
