So like a nub I bought the blu starter kit (new social featuers etc one) and I decided to order some boge 510 carts and some eliquid. I got the 3ohm carts and im getting nothing out of them. I have thoroughly filled them almost to point of overflow then draining the excess liquid out and all im getting is some crackling and nothing. No taste no vapor. Did I get the wrong ohm for the blu shorts or did I just get a bum pack of carts?

BLU is fairly proprietary... as far as I know, their products work well with their own products...
I would say that 3.0 is a little high ohm-wise for a blu,,, or 808 /510 shorty type battery...

I use 3.0's on my 5 volt device and I think your device kicks out between 2.7 and 3.2 volts

welcome to ecf... and don't kick yourself... my first device was very much like a BLU...
...and there are people that have been vaping years on devices very much like the blu...
Got an ego after a month and my first mod a couple months later.

Do not use LR - they are to low for a Blu; use around 2.2Ω - 2.4Ω as Vapoor eyes er suggested. And you don't necessisarily need boges. Not even sure if they make one in that range, but Smok does.

Yeah the manufacturer recommends nothing lower than 2.0 ohms otherwise battery damage "may" occur- some have used lower ohms with success.

In my experience with Blu, their batteries aren't all that powerful. I'd go with Vapoor's suggestion but realize you'll probably be draining the batteries pretty fast. My Blu (now on its way to a new home) like to drove me up walls with the batteries draining so fast even using Blu's cartos.

You could get an inexpensive pass through if you're stationary (especially at a computer) a great deal and use the Boge with it, keeping the Blu for going out and about. I'm using an inexpensive (about $15) BetterLife with Boge cartos as I type this.

Heh, even discovered my iPad USB wall adapter will drive the pass through easily and do that in the living room all the time now...

Try 2.0- 2.4 ohms but realize the batts will drain slightly quicker. Could also use Nano Clearomizers 2.2 ohms but almost everyone is sold out cuz they were made specifically for the smaller PVs.

You think that'd work okay with Joye 510 manual 280 mAh batteries? I tried the Joye tank set up and it was okay but find I'm drifting back to cartos. The SR Boge work great on my little pass through but are a tad weak on the batteries. I was looking at some L-Rider (?) cartos on the website of a vendor I've been dealing with. They're around 2.2 - 2.4. Was thinking of giving one a try.

The reason the Nano 2.2 ohms clearos sold out so quickly is because they were the first tank system made for 510's and were the perfect ohms. My experience has been the best vape, outside of dripping or RBAs, is the carto.

Problem is this stuff from China has such low QC is it going to be 2.0 ohms or 2.6 ohms? I test all my heads, cartos, etc beforehand for shorts and to know the exact ohms of them. For instance I'm using a Smok Tek 1.7 ohms single coil carto- measures out to 2.2 ohms, almost 30% higher than advertised

In my experience Boges have been the most accurate.

Heh, I'll need a new VOM. Mine are old and refuse to measure anything in the single digits no matter how much I threaten. :)

These, though, the vendor tested. They're billed as 2.0 but test a bit higher. I thought maybe I'd give one a whirl. It's not a big rush to have a good portable set up right now. What work I have (bleah, ain't much) is freelance and I have a home office. So having my pass through covers 99% of the time anyway. I just don't want to blow the batteries I have. Already lost two atomizers and think it may have been my blundering around.
