I am very new to e cigaretts, have not even tried one yet. I spent a few hours on this forum the other night and it answered a lot of my questions. I am actually very excited about getting my first e-cigarette in. If you are wondering, I ordered a vapor king from vapor4life. It seemed like the right choice after a few hours of deciphering the vape lingo. What I did not stumble across was the relation of nicotine mg to analogs. I want to get off nicotine all together, but think vaping may be my new habit. I don't want anything to weak, so is 36mg or 24mg going to cure the crave or nic fit? Should I start with something weaker? I currently smoke a pack of light menthol's a day, sometimes more. Like I said I am really excited to get my vapor king in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
John

I think the strength varies greatly between people. I use 24mg juice and it works really well for me. This is on a Joye 510 by the way. I think different voltages will put out different amounts of nicotine from what I read in another thread. It might be good to aim lower and work your way up if you aren't satisfied though. Starting out with like a 10mg would be my suggestion, but of course, I'm no expert yet. I started with the 24mg and I'm very pleased with it.

I smoked upwards of 2 packs a day of full flavored cigs. I thought 24mg liquid would be what I needed. Turns out that was too high. I settled in a 12-18mg and I am comfortable with those levels.

My suggestion is to get a couple mg liquids to start with until you find your comfort level.

Edit... A LOT of us vape a LOT more often than we smoked just because it's so much more enjoyable and tastes a helluva lot better.

It all depends on the person. I started at 24mg but it was too strong for me and would make me kinda dizzy if I vaped it too much. I went to 18mg and that was just right, now I am down to 11-12mg and it works well for me.

I would start at 24mg just to make sure it will help with the cravings at first but if you feel it is to strong then go down from there.

To add to the info above, you may also find it is better to have different strengths for different parts of the day. I go with a higher strength in the morning and after dinner. A lower strength for evening and a middle one for most of the day.

Took me awhile to find the right combo for me. So don't worry if it takes awhile to find the strength or strengths that help you. It is a journey, not a destination. Have fun with it.

I was a fairly heavy smoker but 24 mg had me a little light headed and my heart pounding. I switched to 18 and now down to 16.

This is such a subjective question as the strength that you will need is unique to all of us.

I recommend as above that a new vaper buy 36 mg and cut it down, or just start at 18 and go either way as needed.

If your heart is beating too fast, you tend to get a little light headed or you cough when you inhale (assuming you are not inhaling directly into your lungs because that will usually make you cough in itself) it is too strong.

Conversely, if in two or three weeks of vaping you are still craving analogs, your juice is too weak.

I suggest you get three different levels to start. Then see what works best for you. AND... you will likely find that you will need to adjust your level up and down over the first several weeks. Having a selection on hand will make that easier.

After you settle on a level you might still find that you want different levels for different times of the day. For example, many members like strong stuff in the morning and weak or no nic in the evening with something in the middle for most of the day.

I suggest getting some 12 mg, 18 mg, and 24 mg liquids. Chances are your preferred level will be in there somewhere. And later, if needed, you can mix any that you don't use with something stronger or something weaker to get the level you want.

Good luck! :)

:D I smoked Marlboro Ultra Lights and when I started vaping I got some 24mg's. It was too much for me and made me lightheaded and dizzy. I'm at 8mgs now and I think its too low because I've got my 510 in my hand all the time. I thing they're right, maybe somewhere in like the 12mg range would be better. It just takes a little time to figure it out. I've only been vaping for 3 months and totally off the analogs after 38 of smoking. I just love vaping and all the different flavors out there are awesome.
Good luck and stick to it!

Lucy I smoked those! lol
I find 12mg is my sweet spot :) I do have a couple of baby 24mg liquids though (they only sold in that strength and I wanted some lol) that give me a boost if I need it. Can't vape on it more than say an hour tops though or I get super dizzy and find the bathroom becomes ever more my home :D
18mg isn't as bad as that, but again, have to watch any 18mg I get, but you do need a quick WALLOP of nic every now n then just to know youre awake imo.

I'm originaly from Australia where the mg is clearly marked on cigarette packaging. 16 is considered full strength, 12 is not so full strength, 8 is mild and 4 or lower was just a waste of money, time and your lungs.

Since moving to the States I started smoking full strength Newports but find 16mg vaping to strong.

I've been vaping 8mgs all week and find myself vaping more than I smoked so I'm guessing 12 mg is my sweet spot.

So... I figure I'll vape 12mg if I want to get my 'hit' and 8mg if I plan on vaping continously for an extended period of time.

23 and higher would be overkill for me but I could imagine for a 2 pack a day smoker that might be that person's sweet spot.

Just my 2 cents.

I am also new to e-cig. It seems as if most liquid suppliers on here are out of stock of any liquid that contains nicotine. Can someone send me to the right place to get it?

Mango, have you tried Happy Vaper in the great white north?

I have never ordered their juice, but I have ordered flavoring from there and the service was very good.
