I started with the ego and moved to the Volt. I also have a 5 volt box mod but I vape the Volt (auto 78mm) pretty much all the time. While the battery life is not as good on the 808s, they all small enough that you can carry a bunch of them. My wife and I each have a case that holds 4 batteries and 4 cartos plus the one we carry around so we leave the house with five batteries each. I also started vaping 36mg liquid but mostly vape 24mg now because not many vendors offer 36mg. You'll probably end up with several different PV before it's over with. I agree with others too, that you will probably be filling cartos because I haven't found many (any?) prefilled that I really like.

Don't even think about the nic levels too much at the start, just make sure your cravings are satisfied, 24mg sounds high, but in vaping terms it is not. I was smoking 1mg cigarettes and started on 6mg juice which was too low for me, i am now sitting pretty on 12mg.

1 cartomizer should last a week if not longer, so if you have 10 at the start you can expect to have to buy more 2 months later.

I will probably wean myself off the PV one day, but for now, this is my vice, this gives me relaxation in stressful times and this is just something i enjoy. I don't see vaping as a bad habbit like i did with cigarettes.

I spent two hours a day for 3 weeks researching how I'd quit a 15 year habit of smoking. I didn't want to fail.......again. I tried an ecig several years ago and it didn't work well enough to replace analogs. There was very little support out there also back then. But this time I did a lot of research, watched non-supplier videos and testimonies and articles. I felt quite confident with my final decision - V2 which is an 808. It worked! After several weeks I got brave and tried other types. But nothing beat my v2's. I have never cheated Now, almost 4 months later I have reached the point where I am extremely confident I will never ever return to an analog. I've also ventured out to try a box mod - which I love. But you know, every once in a while I will go back to my v2's just for kicks and enjoyment and it reminds me how and why I quit so easily and seamlessly. Now I'm adept at loading my carts for the v2's but of course there's nothing like a tank on a mod box. So quit on a quality cig like devise as that is KEY and with time, entertain the idea of trying other devices, you will always have your original to go back to if ever you feel inclined.

D2Q - I have no real plans of quitting vaping any time soon, but I also don't really plan to vape forever, lol.

I've already noticed I can go much much longer between vapes than cigs. I crave it less. I was a 1 1/2 PAD smoker of Menthol Smooths, and vaped like a madwoman at first. I've noticed over the last week that I can go hours at work without wigging out. At night, I can go to bed without vaping "one last time".

So, it can be done. I am amazed how well this little life altering machine has worked for me. I never thought it would be this easy! I know it's a LOT of info to try and absorb, I was so overwhelmed at the beginning, but once I got my kit, it all made sense. If you can just narrow down what to buy, and order it, it will be much easier from there!

And just in case, order some Boge 2.0 cartomizers, maybe 5, and a small sample pack of juice, because I have a feeling you'll wish you did......

I started with a 510 auto then tried the 510 small manual, after this I moved on to the riva 1100 which has great battery life but I still wanted a smaller e cig for when I was out. Then I heard a lot of good reviews about the volt kr808 from smokeless image so I went ahead and bought a couple of their new sealed autos and I absolutely love them, the battery life isn't as good but as long as you have a couple of batteries with you you'll be fine. I still use the riva at home sometimes but I actually prefer the volt, so I went from 510 to 808.

Hey all. I just found this site and I've been reading for HOURS. I'm a 2 PAD smoker and have been for an appalling 19 years, AKA half my life. :( I don't want to make it an even twenty years. I've tried to quit via patches, gum, support groups, state programs, cold turkey (I refused to try Chantix after I saw what it did to my mother!) and nothing has worked for me. While here I have read story after story of people giving up smoking pretty much instantaneously and I can't wait until I post my "no analogs for a year" thread lol.

I haven't bought an ecig yet because I am seeking the advice of the experienced so I don't make the typical newbie mistakes. I don't have a big pile of money to shop with, though that will hopefully change once I'm no longer spending the ridiculous sum of $200 a month on coffin nails.

The two most recommended models seem to be the 808 and the 501, with the 501 coming out on top. The 501 seems a little too big for my tiny hands so I'm tending toward the 808. Also, I like the convenience of a pre-filled cartridge because I'm inherently lazy lol. How many of you started out with 808 and have stayed with 808? Or did most of you move to the 501 later?

Thanking you all in advance, and thanking you all for the sense of hope I am already feeling after reading here for 4 hours straight! :)

What is an 808 or 501? Newby here :D
