Been vaping for about a month and a half now and got a few questions...

Starting to get some empty e-juice bottles... How best to dispose? Or is it ok to wash and reuse (I like to cut with VG and mix)? Best way to wash?

I drive all day and am starting to notice a clear 'film' on my windows (vaping with the windows up)... Regular cig's cause brown stains on the walls, windows, etc. ...what's the verdict on e-cigs having a similar effect?

I've never seen this discussed before.

I have seen people say that these can leave a film on surfaces over time.

I always save any used empty bottles for mixing my own. You never know when you just might need one for something. I just run the bottles, drip caps and caps under hot water until there is no smell left of the previous juice.

*NOTE!" - It is almost impossible to remove the smell and residue from any mint flavorings. It seems like it always gets into and stays in the plastic for ever and the next time you make a mix in that bottle you'll taste the mint.

I think it's safe to say that vapor from any pv is going to leave residue somewhere. The vapor dissipates but the component molecules don't disintegrate or anything.

That being said... uh, crack your window, I guess. Or don't, but use some glass cleaner. I suspect it's the vg that is the main culprit in the film department.

Every time you throw away a vape-related item, you will need that item the next day.

I ran across a thread the other day wherein a chemist was discussing this. His verdict was that it is safe to throw out empty bottles. If you're worried about accidentally killing a rat or something at the dump, just rinse them out with warm water. You can use dish soap, but it's really not necessary.

I've re-used bottles that have picked up a strong menthol odor, as well. I just fill them completely with a non-menthol flavor, and vape it. By the time it's empty, the menthol smell is gone.

Ya, I tend to cut my all day juice 50-50 with VG and add a few drops more of flavour.

Was just excited to be driving around with the windows UP in WINTER and no SMOKE.

Id say its worth the occasional window cleaning to be able to vape in the car during the cold winter months with the windows up. So you can still be excited. I am.

My family and I are driving to Florida from New York in less than a month. Made the same drive last year. I had to wait until we stopped somewhere to light up an analog because I wont smoke in the car with my children. With vaping they dont smell it so it doesnt bother them. And since there is no such thing as second hand vapor, theres no more waiting until someone has to pee to "fire up".

I wash my bottles with Dawn and give them a good rinse with distilled water. The water here sucks and I really don't want to chance vaping it,lol

I don't drive and don't get out of the house much so I don't know about the car windows but given the feel of e liquid I can see where it would leave a film. Break out the windex and be glad you aren't inhaling all that yellow tar and gunk anymore.

lol @ rat at the dump..... cracked me up for some reason... anyway, I always put the cheap plastic containers I don't want to keep inside another container (like empty peanut can, or jar with lid etc..) I don't know why, just afraid my dogs or some other will get in the garbage. My glass bottles, I rinse, then soak in alcohol so they dry better, then put them in a shoe box for the day I might possibly need them.....lol.

I save ALL my empty bottles ... I have quite a stash, now. I guess it's part of my OCD/hoarding tendencies because I cannot imagine ever having a need for so many empty bottles.

Anyway, I rinse them with Pure Grain Alcohol to remove stuck-on flavors ... then I wash in hot water with dish soap and rinse thoroughly using boiling water ... let drain/dry and store in a sealed bag.

I save most of my empty bottles (some are more worthy than others). I usually wait until I have a small batch and then soak them in a solution of dishwashing liquid and hot water. This not only cleans them but helps get the labels off.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is the problem of setting down your e-cig on a table or countertop. If your e-cig leaks any (and most of them do), keep a paper towel handy or you'll end up with tiny marks all over the house. ;)

great, that is all I need. Another compulsion. I just ordered my first batch of liquids yesterday. I keep everything. I keep all my coffee cans to put screws in, but I don't have any screws. I use all of my bad cd's for target practice, but never go shooting. That's ok, there won't be anymore empty analog packs lying around anymore.;) I would just clean the windows with a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water.

I think there are a bunch of you that have not yet voted in my poll.
:D

Do you have obsessive-compulsive tendencies?

It is banished to the OUTSIDE section of the forum because apparently some moderator felt it was off topic, although I think it is very much on topic and there is something going on here that should be looked into.

I think there is a very clear link between intelligence, smoking, and obsessive compulsive tendencies.
And I really think there is something to be learned somewhere in all of this.
