Yesterday was my one week anniversary of discovering this new habit, hobby addiction. A vape shop opened up recently in a nearby town and there was an article in the local paper. So I went there to investigate. Came home with a ZMax, some tanks and a couple of flavors of e-juice. I started out with 12mg juice. After one day I decided that wasn't strong enough, so I went back for more supplies and some 18mg juice. Then I discovered this excellent forum and I've read as much as I can in the past week.

My first internet order came yesterday. Some 18mg and 24mg juice from Five Pawns. Apparently I ordered everything except Gambit, but they included a sample and it was the first one I tried. It was so delish that I immediately ordered 3 bottles, 2 / 24mg and 1 / 18mg. The reaction among my female friends last night at Happy Hour was amazing. I finally concluded that "second-hand" Gambit vapor is an aphrodisiac. I must never run out of this substance.

So, a week later I'm waiting on a new Provari and a dozen new Juices, and 20 new tanks and other toys. After 35 years of analogs I am happy to spend any amount to kick that filthy habit. It's probably too late for me to make a recovery health-wise. But I've already noticed a dramatic improvement in lung function and my sense of smell is also returning.

Now I am praying these products aren't banned. In my lifetime I've watched the U.S.A. become a total nanny state. With any luck, perhaps the government is so dysfunctional that it will take them many years to organize a ban?

Thanks for all the good info on this forum.

Welcome to the fold. You may have read this already but as your healing your taste will change. One day gambit may stop hitting the spot and an old bottle will be divine. My advice: hold on to those "eh" juices. I've got 23 bottles of 18 dif flavors in my vape drawer only 2 of those are currently my "all day every day" vape, but I love the occasional variety here and there through out my day. Oh and if you get into the rda world your flavor preferences will change some. Ie I have a Belgian cocoa that's great in my tank and hits like a freight train in my rda. Papaya stawbango is dull in the tank but perfection in the rda. Best of luck.

As soon as you think you fully understand the vape world you discover you're still a noob :p

Hi Sturgis, welcome!

Uh, how is improved lung function not a health improvement?

Sounds like you've jumped into the deep end, and the initial costs can give some "sticker shock", but you've ordered up some good hardware that will last a long time, so that won't be recurring. Just juice and heads. And anyway, it's a lot cheaper than chemo and radiation. (More fun, too!)

Congratulations!
With all the hardware you have and especially what is in the mail, you have no excuse to go back to analogs.
As ex-smokers, we've done damage but we are definitely living healthier and breathing easier.
As time goes and clothes, car and home lose that stink, you'll never want to go back.
I still cringe whenever I smell a smoker, because that used to be me and it really is nasty.

Congrats. You make me feel better because I have only been vaping nonstop for 22 days and have 8 bottles, 7 tanks, 2 batteries and two chargers. I have noticed that my tastes are evolving but am discovering my everyday flavors. Then as evening rolls around my tastes change. Loving this hobby. Now I need to venture out of the catromizer world but am waiting for my analog/vape bottom line to go black!

Thanks for the Welcome!

Now, I will give my first review, lol. My first mod is the Smok Zmax mini. Somehow, I forgot (didn't understand) to purchase the extension tube. So I ended up with a handful of 18350 batteries. And those batteries just don't last long enough for me. I like the size and features of the Zmax but I think I'll be happier with longer battery life. I've been using mostly Protank II's but I won't have anything to compare with until my orders come this week.

Something I've been wondering about, how do you guys manage your tanks and juice? Do you have one tank for each juice? Or do you have a small number of tanks and switch juices? I can see it's becoming kind of an issue trying to keep track of all these tanks. Is it ok to store the tanks with juice in them for a period of time?

Thanks,

Bob

I usually have a few tanks going at any given time, because i like to switch flavors several times a day. If you want to change the juice you have in your tank, just give it a good cleaning first. Yes, you can store a tank with juice in it. Keep it in a dark, cool place. However it can gunk up your coil over time, especially if its a dark liquid.

I tend to run a flavor in a specific topper, with many filled and ready. A thorough hot water clean, maybe a dry burn of the coil, and they're ready for something different. Or replace the coil with a new one.

Coil gunking mostly happens during use - a by product of the boiling juice can leave deposits on the coil that eventually cause the performance to fade. Shouldn't be an issue if just sitting idle.

Yes you can leave juice in them BUT there may be slight leakage if it's a bottom coil. If sitting for awhile the juice ingredients might separate slightly. I have a plastic container with labelled areas- after I'm finished vaping a particular juice I put it back in it's place.

Congrats on quitting! I'm 2 1/2 months in myself. For me the initial investment was high, I started on an eGo starter kit with regular clearos, then ended up getting a ProTank, ProTank 2, and a vast amount of juices and different nicotine levels to find that sweet spot for me. Since then I've switched to using a mechanical mod and rebuildable drip atomizers so my spending has gone down, and I've also started buying the bigger bottles of juice from my local vape store which saves money, and buying the occasional wick and wire for rebuilds is cheap. In this journey there has been a lot of tinkering and experimenting in finding what I like, and in the end my way of quitting smoking has turned into my hobby, and I haven't looked back since.
