I started out with a basic ego-C kit with two CE5 Vision stardust clearomizers but if I had to start over I would get the Kanger EVOD kit. As for juice I started with 18 nicotine but quickly found out after some heavy vaping that my throat would get irritated a bit so I switched down to 12 nicotine and have had no problems since. I used to smoke about 2 packs a week.

Started out with Atmos Optimus-510 Vaporizer Kit Black
My GF bought it just so I could smoke at work. Ended up quitting all together!
Most people I know start out with an eGo 510 kit. You can find them for a GREAT price on ebay or around the net. But you get what you pay for. Just remember you're starting out! You don't need a Provari or a big mod or pricey things right now. Take baby steps young grasshopper.

hi there, im fairly new to vaping as well.. i started off with an itaste and vivinova.. the chinese are cheap but some of them are of good quality.. so what i did was, i started vaping with the cheapos so if i find it not for me , i can always look for another setup and eventually you will find one that suit you the best. gluck!

Thank you for the advice!! My next thing is the strength of the nicotine, should I order the strongest or weakest concentration?

What has worked for me is 24ml. Nic. I've bought lower but have not yet tried to tapper back. An additional note to my earlier comment - I'm don't mean to endorse the joyetech eroll, it's just that I have found nothing els that will deliver nic juice in such a small and clever method. Being the heavy smoker that I was and the fact this is my main delivery, I must say I'm quit amazed.
Again, good luck!

At home, yes. This item will work fantastic. But at work, um, no... ain't gonna happen! Stealth is required where I'm employed.

This is the post I meant to write on - At home, yes. This item will work fantastic. But at work, um, no... ain't gonna happen! Stealth is required where I'm employed.
Second that!!;)
At least for the moment....if I'm out and about....I'll still pack my Blu with refilled carts (...like 4 or 5!!) and several spare (CHARGED!!) batteries....I'm still a bit nervous having strangers see me with a device that could be construed as a "....", "water pipe", etc.
The absolute LAST thing I want to do is present vaping as "doing drugs"!!!
OK....there's nicotine.....BUT...there doesn't HAVE to be... but I still feel more comfortable in public with something that more closely resembles a "real cigarette" than "...Hey! What y'all smokin', boy????!"
But....that's just me!!;)
Remember....Just because you're paranoid....doesn't mean they're NOT out ta get ya!!:)
Happy (vaping) Trails!

If I can throw My 2 cents in...I would skip the Ego twist and Go straight to the Itaste 3.0, because you get vv/vw mod with dual connections...YOu are going to want another "battery" for sure but to start with that and an EVOD and ProTank is great...Just click the Banner below and Joe will take care of Ya, He did me...

I haven't had a real cigarette in a week and a half, after two decades of Reds(pack-pack and half a day). After some disposables and what I guess would be described as a semi-disposable, I bought an Ego clone(Ego U-Luxury Edition) at a brick and mortar. I know nothing as I am new, but I do know that the e-cigs have done what the gum, Wellbutrin, the patch, and snus didn't do. If you can find an NJOY disposable in a convenience store(or any other disposable if no NJOYs), try that to see if you like, or at least don't mind, the experience. If you like that, get an Ego and some juice and have at it. I have tried a couple juice strengths and am most comfortable with 36mg. With the lower strengths, I ended up vaping constantly, which while not a terribly bad thing, is less than ideal for me. Good luck!

Ahh started out with 36mg now I'm down to 24mg. Working my way down the ladder.

I started about 3 years ago with an eGo 2-900mAh batteries and a 600mAh passthrough . spent about 100 bucks on my first attemt to slow down on smoking , what i didnt know 3 years ago was that my cartos / attys were too high resistance for what was really gonna help me . All they were selling at the time were 510LR at about 1.5 or so ohms and higher mg nicotine, which was what i needed , and i was buying 2.2+ resistance and low mg nicotine .

Until i got my Vamo v2 , i didnt know what i was doing wrong , why it wasnt working for me . I was able to crank up the output to what the resistance and i needed paired with 36mg of nicotine i found my 'happy place' .
Even if you get an eGo , get the twist , its onlt a few dollars more , i think you will in the long run be happier with it . and you know , the more it DOESNT look like an analog , the less likely you will be asked to not do it . Also lots of vapers want HUGE plumes of vaper clouds , go with a higher PG base liquid , less 'smoke' easier to stealth . Also the less clouds , the less people will ask questions also .

Good luck , i wish you best at your attemt to quit smoking , it worked for me eventually after 28 year 1 - 1 1/2 packs a day of home injected rolls with pipe tobacco . Thats why i went with 36mg nic eventually .

we all have started where you are now , we , for the most part didnt have ALL this info and help available to us at the time . And another thing too, we were basically stuck with cheap cigalikes and eGos and some high end items , i think the ProVari was around when i started , but couldnt see dropping 150 bucks on something like that i was just gonna try . I hadnt decided it was going to be used to help me stop smoking , i was so i could 'smoke' in public like the movies , malls , restaurants and the like .

I build several box mods and other things over the 3 years i was trying this till this April when i decided to 'try' a Variable Wattage device the Vamo , from the day that came in , i have had 2 analogs total , and that was like the first couple days . I dont remember actual day of shipment on the Vamo , but the Big Heavy beast was worth every penny . about 35 USD + shipping from China for the kit with 2 batteries and a charger .

I am not going to give you links to items you arent ready for or tell you you should try this or that . Just my experiences .

If you try the cigalikes , and you like them , buy more till you get tired of throwing money away , if you dont you will move on to something else . This is just trial and error for ALL of in this . We are constantly learning from testing and others experiences .
I also learned a lot from you tube and PBusardo about certain devices . There are literally thousands of hours worth videos there about vaping/e-cigs/vapeing however you want to call it spell it its there . And its here in thousands of pages with all the info from the beginning of vaping . And remember ECF is HUGE ... google is your friend , if you cant find it on a search here internally , google will help you search .

See therein lies the problem, I know nothing about ecigs but thank you as price is a factor as well :)
Research. It's cheaper to get a good one up front than end up wanting to upgrade all the time. I started with an ego & won a Vamo V3 in a contest here. It's a good APV sold at a reasonable price. This would be a good starter kit. $54.32 Vamo V3 Variable Voltage E-Cigarette Battery Compartment Set - with Nitecore I2 charger / 2*Sony US18650V3 batteries at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
