This one was a pain in the ... to fit everything, but I finally got it all working. This mod accepts all bats up to an 18650..yes, it uses protected bats :)

This shows an 801 atomizer but it feels so nice I plan on making a 401 version tomorrow which I'll use with an 18650. I wanted to fit in a voltage regulator using an LM317 and a potentiometer exposed on the side to allow quick adjustments anywhere between 3.5 and 6.0v but there was no way to fit it in such a small mod. I need to find a slightly bigger model to handle it.

The weight of the body is only 20 grams but when you add the bats and connector it has a nice heft to it for such a compact unit. I can't really post pictures of the insides because both pieces are tubes that can't be opened (makes it a real pain in the ... to work with).

The button is the same one that comes with the unit and it was hollowed out with a very small tactile fit inside it. Small wires (took em from a phone line) run under the black cover plate and enter directly into the top head piece. This was the only way I could figure out how to fit the large bats inside such a small body.

Other than that, the thing kicks out the same mad vapor as any other 6v+ with an 801 atomizer.

How's the vapor production? We need video!

I'm not very photogenic but I'm debating doing a video to show how insane the vapour is. A 1 second drag gives a full heavy hit. A 4-5 second drag and you vanish in the the vapour. Anyone that has used an 801 with 2xcr123a bats will know what I mean. The nicotine hit is very strong with this much vapor so I had to make a batch with lower nic content. The amount of juice used is much higher as well (I'm guessing over 50% more than using a standard 801).

I posted a test video just to make sure it all works and it does. I should have a short video showing vapour tonight.

Also managed to get a variable voltage control working and reduced to quite a small size so I'm hoping the next version will have it. I'll post a battery box sample with details later as well.

Nuck, are those Tenergy CR2 batteries in the background??? IF so, are they protected, are they 3v and where did you get them?

In any case, nice mod!

These are 3.0v CR123a. I grabbed these when I was gonna get the Prodigy from BatteryJunction in the US. The price was pretty good.

Tenergy LiFePO4 RCR123A 3.0V 750mAh Rechargeable Battery (as low as) $2.79 ea!

Those particular ones charge to 3.3v and the build quality seems to be quite a bit better than the usual stuff from DX.

Edit: Yes, they are protected. I had some bad dreams involving LuckySeven...don't ask :)
