I run coils at about 1.5-1.8 ohms, and only have to file "maybe" once a year. You can get a cheap multimeter at Harbor Freight or some such place, or one of those spiffy "atty testers" like this one. But you really should test your coil(s). Even if you used disposable attys/cartos, it's a good idea to test them. Bear in mind that even store bought atomizers aren't always what they're supposed to be, they could have a dead short, or be WAY off from what you ordered.

I've got a mulitmeter….will drag it out and figure out how to use it. Thanks.

You MIGHT be able to find some resistance wire at a local B&M if you have one. No wire at Lowe's or anything like that. You bought the 2.0 used, right? Maybe you need to file the firing pin a little harder than you have. Instead of an emery board, try using a metal nail file, and put a little muscle behind it. Then Noalox it. You should never see sparks, and if you do.....re-file and re-Noalox until you get rid of them.

Michelle if you need some wire I can send you some 30 and 28 to try and see which you like before buying in bulk. PM me your address and it will be in the mail on Tuesday.

I appreciate the offer, but I have an order to be shipped out tomorrow. I was just hoping to get it done tonight or tomorrow as I have a couple days off. I misplaced/lost the little bit I ordered with the Reo.

Well, I'm not sure I'm using my multimeter correctly. I put the red lead in the bottom hole of the atty, and touched the black point to the threads (black lead plugged in to both holes that aren't for the red) read just around 3.0 but wouldn't really STOP changing. These are LR atties.

Do you have any other atomizers that you could read just for comparisons sake. Usually LR atomizers are 1.5-1.8 ohm. Like other have said I would give a good metal filing to that contact point and the battery nipple then apply a light dab of Noalox to both. Hold the mod to your ear and press the fire button and you should hear a hissing sound. If you hear that you should be good to go.

An atomizer with age can sometimes have larger ohm readings but not too much of a difference. After filing etc. can you just put another atty on there?
