Well, I just took the plunge. Got myself:

120ml of 60mg nic, PG, and VG
10 syringes
5 4ml flavorings from PA.

Hoping it arrives soon so that I can do some experiments.

Yay! Way to go. You won't regret it once you get your recipes down. :toast: There will be a lot of trial and error, a lot or error but once you get it right you'll wonder why you didn't do this a long time ago. :D

I have asked if I should pre-mix my nic, pg and vg into a larger bottle that would be mixed to my specifications (70/30) and some say to do it and some say I should not.

I am wondering what the advantages and disadvantages are?

Sorry. Autocorrect. Pre-mixing. :)

oh ok. well nothing really wrong with it except if you are going for a very strict 70/30 pg/vg and you have it for example set to

250 ML of 24 MG 70/30 and you vape 20 MG and add flavor that is 100% vg it might not add up correctly. other then that if you can stand some tollerance variance then it is ok IMO

I am sure you are aware, but there is a DIY sub forum where DIyers talk and there are very helpful posts and people to help with your questions.

The advantage to premixing your nic and PG/VG is when you want to make some juice, all you have to add to your say 10ml bottle is the premix and flavoring. If you don't premix, then you need to add nic juice, PG, VG and flavoring to your say 10ml bottle. It's just a matter of convenience as long as 70/30 is all you are going to vape.

Thanks! Your probably right and also, I wanted to see what I could create. Only ordered a few "samples" of flavors to see which vendor was better. Heard a lot of good things about PA and so, I just gave them a try. Plus, I don't wanna order to much of something and find out that I completely hate it.

Just found a good place for ejuice calculators too:

DIY E-Liquid (E-Juice) Mixing Station!

S
o, I think I'm set.

Flavor Art, DIY Juice & Capella's are other good flavor vendors. Another good calculator is ejuice me up.

Definitely will try DIY Juice, Capella's, and will check out that calculator you mentioned. Would try FlavorArt but, I heard they've been backed up recently. Thanks a lot for the info, I appreciate it. Looks like I'm gonna be busy buying flavors tonight.

I'm almost positive that Wizard Labs sells FA flavors but they are down for maintenance right now. They had a great sale going on for quite awhile so it might be over now but their flavors are really good.

I keep getting conflicting information about prefixing the liquid with the pd/vg.

Some say yes, some no m

I think the most likely reason for not premixing the nic is in case you make something you don't like you haven't wasted the more expensive ingredient..... especially when you are first starting out...

ok here I will post a menthol flavor i found somewhere and use as my daily vape. it has a slight minty flavor with menthol. pretty good

Nicotine E-Liquid 13.8889 ml 277.78 drops 69.445 % -> I rounded up 278 drops
PG 2.4778 ml 49.56 drops 12.389 % -> I rounded up 50 drops
VG 1.8333 ml 36.67 drops 9.167 % -> I rounded up 37 drops
wintergreen 0.4 ml 8 drops 2 % -> 8 drops
spearmint 0.4 ml 8 drops 2 % -> 8 drops
koolada 0.4 ml 8 drops 2 % -> 8 drops
menthol 0.6 ml 12 drops 3 % -> 12 drops

Recipe = 25mg - 70%PG - 30%VG - 20ml

I got nic, pg, and vg from
Maintenance -> they are down now due to moving, great seller though

I got all flavor from the perfumers apprentice
Perfumers Apprentice - The Flavor Apprentice - World of Flavors

juice calculator
E-Liquid Recipe Name

Hopefully you can see how this is done and figure out how all this works

Yeah, Wizard Labs was incredibly cheap and maybe I should ordered a larger quantity. Wish I would've known that those were FA flavors but, I couldn't tell by the description. Probably give them a try next time. Just ordered a couple of flavors from Capellas.

They are TPA flavors, I asked John (the owner) and that is what he told me in email.

Now, about the flavorings.
The Black Cherry and RY4 are made by The Flavor Apprentice.
If you look closely at the product descriptions for each flavor, you will see who the mfg is for each one.
Some are by The Flavor Apprentice, some are LorAnns, some are Seedman’s, and a couple are our own Wizard Labs creations, such as the 10% Menthol PG solution.
Except for our own brand, all are full strength concentrations direct from the mfg that are just repackaged and relabeled from bulk sizes to individual containers.

The Flavor Apprentice is one of my personal favorites when it comes to artificial flavorings.
They are very concerned about the vaping industry, and avoid a lot of artificial colors and Diacetyl, Diacetyl-related compounds in their flavorings.
The one flavor that I like better from LorAnns is the County Fair Cotton Candy.
It has a completely different taste than the traditional Cotton Candy flavoring made from Ethyl Maltol.
I highly recommend giving it a try.
