Just stumbled upon this thread, just wanted to say that I wholeheartedly agree!

I haven't purchased pre-mixed juice in over 5 months now and not only have I saved a ton of money in the process ($0.09/ml vs. $0.50/ml) but I've also learned that DIYing is not that complicated, there are plenty of resources right here on ECF to help you get on the right track. What I love about DIYing is that you're 100% in control, you know what's going in the juice, you can adjust the flavoring, the strength.

I consider myself very fortunate to have made the switch to flavorless juice 3 months ago, it's been the best decision I've made since picking up vaping.

My monthly vaping costs now hover around $15/month :D and that's @ 3ml per day.

Flavored juice was just becoming a hassle :) Figuring out what to vape today, getting sick of certain flavors, wasting juice whenever I would grow tired of it, constantly buying flavoring, buying more atomizers because some were tainted with the taste of a particular juice.

The real driving factor behind my switch though was when my wife got pregnant, suddenly she couldn't stand the smell of my virginia tobacco juice whenever she walked into my office, so I mixed up a batch of flavorless and to my greatest surprise I absolutely loved it!

It's cheap, it's simple to mix, and now I can mix up huge batches of it knowing that I won't ever grow tired of it :)

Interesting- flavorless...hmmm. I might give it a try.

I've been hooked on AVE-Juice Flue Cured but haven't been able to purchase for days due to their payment system being down constantly. Anyone know how to duplicate it or come close to it? I use to to mix with all my other flavors I buy (which aren't many- mostly RY4 blends from Highbrow Vapor).

Definitely give it a shot, you might be pleasantly surprised as I was.

The way I see it is that smoking was easy, take out a cigarette light it up and you're done with it. I'm sure that we all went had those moments that we were fed up with the hassle of vaping, not being able to find an all-day vape, atomizers/cartomizers burning out, batteries constantly needing to be recharged, etc.

Dripping on a 3.7V mechanical mod + 18650 battery + Cisco 1.5 atomizer + Flavorless juice = simplistic bliss!

Definitely, found that out with FA's Butterscotch. Which is kind of.......off. That's probably because I used to much of it but, I'll probably give it another go at a lower %. Only Honey flavoring that i have now is from Flavorwest. Honestly haven't tried it yet. Have to Give LA's version a try as well. Along with some other flavors.

Still building my stash right now and wanna try out a lot of different brands/vendors. Thank you so much for the information and response.

It depends on the flavor really. I'm really fond of Lorann's Amaretto, Honey, Lemon, and Butter. Another one is I think Lorann's chocolate is way better than anyone else's but their walnut and mint are absolutely disgusting. However, for Cinnamons I prefer TPA as well as for Custard. FlavourArt, in my opinion, does strong flavors really, really well like bergamot and brandy but less so on the subtle flavors.

I completely agree with you Mudflap, and let me say - welcome to the DIY side of ecigs! I, for one, appreciate the juice I vape much more since I am now making it myself. I got lucky with my first batch recipe and now it takes me only a few minutes to mix up a 120ml batch that will last me a month or more. It is fun and satisfying.

I got so fed up with buying crap juice again and again. Even from vendors that everyone touted as the best. There just seemed as if there was very little effort and consideration put into the making of the e-liquids. I would get so sick of the flavors quickly and got tired of the steeping time. With my DIY method, my juice is ready to go after making it. Some of the pre-made juices I bought even tasted as if they were going south soon after buying them. Luckily for me, my juices have never lost any flavor.

I only vape 1 flavor now, my own mint chocolate, and I can say that I haven't even grown the slightest bit tired of it after 6 months. The keys are to 1) buy quality nic and 2) find that 1 flavor of e-liquid you really enjoy, and it's off to the races from there. Good luck, Mudflap!

Dear juice chefs/vendors:

Nothing personal against y'all, but I'm done with the lot of you. I've enjoyed some of your creations, but I've been unimpressed with most of them. There are now dozens of juice vendors and every single one of you (that I've seen) is looking to milk as many dollars as you can from your customers rather than offer them a good product for a good value. I know you've got overhead to cover and your time is worth something too, but I don't have the disposable income to do business with any of you any more. I firmly believe your mark up has entered the realm of excessive. I can't afford to go out for steak and lobster every night and I can't afford to continue throwing away money just to learn your product is inconsistent and disappointing. Too many of you have left a bad taste in my mouth. Literally and figuratively.

Oh, and about your arguments about the cost of e-juice vs. the cost of analogs? I don't smoke any more, so the cost of analogs doesn't figure into my budgeting. Would you budget fuel costs and automotive insurance if you don't own a car?

So, I'm gonna vape away my remaining stock of sub-par, overpriced, premixed e-juice, and venture into DIY when it's almost gone. I might not ever be able to make any juice that I'll enjoy as much as the few good premixes that I've stumbled across, but I don't figure I'll make it worse than all the bad ones I've forked over good money to buy. And if I do, well, I wasn't in it for the money so the cost of some flavorings and base won't hurt much at all when I pour it down the drain.

Bye bye, juice vendors. Your market just shrank by one dissatisfied customer.

P.S. -- If your gonna charge me $15 or more plus inflated shipping for a 30mL bottle of juice that needs to sit on the shelf for a month or more before it even tastes good, I don't think you intend to stay in business for the long haul.

P.P.S. -- The above rant was for my sole benefit. I feel a little better having said it. If I wanted to take on the juice vendors, I would have posted this elsewhere, but I'm not looking to change anyone's mind or even argue about it. I just wanted to throw it out there for it's own sake. Peas.

i have to agree with Mudflap
its costing me more in juice than smoking analogs
i cant keep up with the prices of juice and not to mention the lack of flavor
ive been vaping for about 4 months now the quality and the quantity of juices for the price is way over inflated
im also looking into alternate methods , i refuse to pay those crazy prices anymore
im a heavy vaperer close to 60 ml per week
lets brake the cost down 18.00 per bottle x 2 = 36.00 + tax + shipping + attys (or whatever u use) + mod maintenance( like batteries etc etc....) thats equals to 45.00 per week or more
when i smoked analogs i use to buy one carton per week from our local native stores for 32.00
oh and watch how fast this thread gets twisted around to another topic and buried further down the threads cause they dont want you to see these negative feed backs
all i have to say is there going to price themselves out of business
and i think a lot of people agree just look at all the LIKES for this post
THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN POSTED IN A BETTER SECTION IN THE FORUMS
i dont think as many people will see it in this section (would be nice if it could be moved)

dano-bri: The feedback and wealth of knowledge shared in this thread thus far was a happy surprise for me. I posted my little rant here in Reoville because its citizens put up with me without taking me to task for all the nonsense I frequently post for my own amusement. I never intended to start a crusade against vendors of premixed e-liquid. I wish them well and give them kudos for everything they do to support the vaping community.

The DIY subforums here at ECF are easy to find and utilize for any like minded vapers that want to save some money and exert more control over what's in their e-liquid.

There's no need for this thread to be moved elsewhere for greater visibility. Everyone is free to make up their own minds about premix vs. DIY and I don't have any particular desire to nudge popular opinion in either direction.

Now gimme a simple recipe to try.

I keep missing the "window" of buying porphy's juice. I got to work before his payment system comes on line and by late morning, his payment system is down again due to meeting maximum capacity for shipping for the day and I'm busy at work and can't get on an e-cig related site anyways (banned by ISP), so I have tried my cell phone to order but signal is bad in my building, etc. End result is that I'm out of my juice...have been since Monday night. I have Nic juice and VG...I just mixed them together to make 18mg/ml and vaping away. It's not bad, although not exciting at all. Certainly much cheaper! and I still get my fix!!

Do you like Cinna-bomb Mudflap? I recently tried a recipe from a DIY thread and made Cinna-bombs clone. I can't believe how spot-on the recipe is. So easy, even I didn't screw it up.

When I first started vaping, I loved it. Nowadays, not so much. My wife loves it, though. I'll have to find that recipe. :D

well im going to try extracting some juice and nicotine from some snus and tobacco
there a few threads on this and the methods seem pretty simple
as long as i get some nic and a half descent taste of tobacco from the extraction this should satisfy my needs
and if there is not enough of a nic hit i will just buy some nic to ad
i think it will be much cheaper this way
im not going to knock the vendors but i still think the price of their juice is to much
and to see this many replies on your post says something
