Hello everyone,

so I started making juice a month or two ago and have had little to no success with my flavors. I have tried all different ratios and flavors but none of them come out very good at all. I have done tones of reading on steeping and all that good stuff but I cannot seem to get it right. I usually do a 50/50 mix with 6mg nic 10-15% flavor, do a quick steep in hot water taste it and let it sit for a week or more with no results to show for my effort. I tried making a Cherry lime flavor and all I taste is a very bitter lime with a sweet cherry somewhere in the back ground. No matter how long I let it steep the flavors will not blend and the lime will not smooth out even after adding a bit of sweetener. I have heard vodka can help to blend flavors but have yet to try it. On top of everything else the flavor of the nic always comes through with a very bad aftertaste and mutes the flavor.

Any advice would be awesome!

I don’t know enough about DIY yet to help you but I do know they are going to ask what nic you use, what calculator, etc. Might want to add that up front so they can better help you. Good luck. Learning curves suck don’t they?

Oh, and when trying out new recipes, best not to use the nic so you don’t waste it when the mix doesn’t pan out.

Go back and re-read the stickies at the top of this forum until you actually understand what is being said.
You need to learn about EM, MTS, and other additives.
Few people who start D.I.Y make good juice on their first try. D.I.Y. is an art, not a science. You have to be patient and take the time to LEARN.

Thanks for the heads up,

I started with a nic I got from myfreedomsmoke they just call it unflavored smoke juice, in 100mg strength. The flavor from that stuff was horrible so I got nic off of e-cig express that was better but not perfect.

I have tried a few other mixes the best one was bubble gum 50/50 with 10% flavor 6mg but it was really hard on the throat even for 50/50.

The calculator I use is called eJuice me up.

Thank you cookie I will do that

I started by trying a recipe (RWHY4) that was posted on this forum and then "tweaking" it to my liking. I started with that one because so many people posted that they made it and that it was really good.

You might want to check out the recipes forum and see if there's one there that matches what you think you want to make.

Um, thanks, but I am making juice I like. I have read the stickies and so on, I just don't think I'm experienced enough to tell others what is wrong with their mixes. Do love the cookie stealing bunny :)

I'd suggest mixing up a little 6mg/ml unflavored from your and give it a vape test. If it has a strong flavor, that would be why your mixes aren't working out.

6mg should have a very mild taste.

+1 on this suggestion. It almost sounds like your nic is not correct as in too high. The E juice me up calculator is spot on. On your e juice calculator, you are putting in the correct ratio of the PG/VG that your nic came in and also that you are using 100 nic ? Like when I got nic from myfreedomsmokes, it came in 50pg and 50 vg and 60 mg nic, so I had to set the calculator for this specifically. When I order from Wizard labs, I get it in 100% VG and 60% nic and have to re set the calculator for this specific nic juice.

Then olf course put in what my target nic is, liike you may want it at 6MG.

The reason I ask is that 6mg of nic should be almost undetectible as in not hurting the throat at all and even not tasting the nic at all.

My juices have been a success ever since I started which was not long ago. I have used Nic juice from both myfreedomsmokes and wizard and find no differences. I use all TFA flavorings (just makes it easy for me). And Ive mostly used recipes from these forums.

Sounds like you enjoy bubble gum. Try my hubba bubba bubblegum at 8% TFA Bubblegum and 10% TFA Strawberry I do this at 50/50 and 12% Nic also Apple bubblegum at 8% TFA bubblegum and 12% TFA Apple . I also enjoy TFA Juicy fruit straight up at 18% TFA Flavoring.

I hope this helps. By the way, you will need NO steeping with these. A hot bath for a few mins, shake and vape. Thjey are a tad better after one or two days, but fruits in general need no steeping/Aging.

I would like to add thay theyare better than anything I evedr got from Halo or MVB or freedomsmokes, etc, etc and you can take that to the bank !!

Ive been doing a 7 ingredient butterfinger that is spot on and is very vapable the day I make it..... even better in 3 to 4 days. This is a very complex flavor. Steeping for a long time? Nah. If its not pretty good the day you mix it......4 or 5 weeks wont make it majically great. Ive read that, tried that and I dont buy that. My two cents anyway. Dont know if this hurt or helped you, but im really trying to help....
