Aloha,

after 10 years @ a pack a day and trying various times and methods to at least cut back to no avail I finally found, and fell in love with, my Lavatube V2. Been at it for only two weeks and am down to only a few analogs per day.

My issue is two fold: I find myself vaping more than I smoked and I still go for the analog first in the morning and whenever my wife is smoking outside (she is at about 4 cigs/day).

Did any of you vets have the issue where you vaped and smoked, living with a partner who still smoked? How did you break it.

I much prefer vaping. I am only at 8ml nic.

Do I just need a higher dose or just stop being a wuss and ditch the analogs?

thanks in advance for your candor
J

HI JLOT when I first started vaping I started with blu cig and still smoked 4-6 analogs a day .But when I switchedto the ego some told me to quit the analogs I would have to up the nic to 24 at least for awhile .It worked for me .Since now I don't smoke I went down to 18 mg of nic in the morning and 12 mg at night .Maybe you can up the nic and that should help. Hang in there buddy.

Welcome and congrats on your progress so far!

Yes, the first week I was vaping I had a hard time giving up that "ritual smoke" with coffee in the morning and after dinner in the evening. I started at 18mg (and I'm still using that strength) and for me, it really wasn't the lack of nicotine so much as reprogramming of my brain. During that first week, I found that even those 2 cigs per day started tasting really bad compared to my vape, and I just naturally made took the final steps the following week.

Everyone seems to be different with their transition phase, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. As already mentioned, try some stronger nic juice and see if that helps. More than likely, you will realize at some point that you just don't want those traditional cigarettes any longer.

I smoked a pack of Marlboro Menthol lights a day before starting to vape. I started at 24mg strength juice. I vaped as much and as frequently as I felt the desire. For the first week, I allowed myself a part of a cig if even more frequent/harder vaping didn't stop the cig craving. Saved the rest for the next cig craving. Before long, those partially smoked cigs got to be pretty nasty tasting, and they became less satisfying. By the end of the week I strongly preferred vaping over the cigarettes, and when the pack was finished, so was I.

Not touched nor desired another cigarette since. In fact, the smell of the smoke or an ashtray repells me. I'm 2 months shy of my 1 year smokefree anniversary.

Thanks for all the advice. Seems the consensus is to step up the nic and I'm not a freak.

So my wife was in the passenger seat and I driving with my tube in the crotch area. She lifted it up to take a hit by the mouth piece. Spilled a bunch of juice on my legs. I think I have enough nic to next Tuesday.

I have been lurking On this forum since I started vaping. You folks seem generally genuine and want to help. I'm pleased I stepped up to ask

Oahu and Vaping is taking off here. I'll encourage others to seek you all out

Cheers.

I offer this advice, with some caution.

You can get 34mg per ml at some stores (Electronic Cigarettes| Smokeless Cigarettes | Ecigs). I can almost guarantee any 1+ pack a day smoker that they will quit smoking at this strength. You will NOT vape as much, and you WILL get a nicotine hit (it will knock you on your ....). I don't order 34mg/ml anymore because I have since lowered my nic level, and am now off of the stinkies completely at 18 - 24mg. I only had to buy one 15ml bottle for this overall quitting effect to take place. Be careful not to vape too much of this level at once, taper on slowly.

Eventually, you won't feel the need to have that much nicotine, and will be able to lower it to 18 - 24, and over time, maybe even lower.

34 is way to high. it will give you headache and other bad things. 20 is acceptable at first and then lower if you see fit. i started with 18 still 18 after 1.5 years. never had an analog after my first ecig. im surrounded by people smoking everywhere and honestly i can't stand the smell and the smoke and everything smoke related. strange after 15 years of 1-2 packs per day.

Are you certain it was really the tube in your crotch she was aiming for? :p

Just kidding, I couldn't resist that one. Back on topic, yes you are not a freak (at least not with vaping) and you should step up the nic level. Vape to your heart's content. Too much nicotine has the same symptoms as too much caffeine.
