I backed my wattage to 13.5 and it's a lot more pleasant now....

The rain has finally stopped....probably not for long though.....

Wharf......Remember to crack the roof vent....

VW Vans,,,,Back in the 70s my Dad was the used car manager at a VW stealership...I scored a job detailing new VWs...We got this camper van in on trade once...It was a dang nice van and the previous owner had added some cabinets and such...Well it sat and sat and I guess due to it being a camper van no one would buy it...Finally the owner had me park it out back...It sat there a long while too...There weren't many cars for me to wash so staying outta sight and mind was a priority for me...I set up residence in the van...One day the stealership owner asked me if I'd like too purchase the van seeing as I liked it so much...The owner was going around with the paychecks and asked a mechanic where I was......bass turd ratted me out and pointed too the van....dang good thing I was awake...Long/short he nearly gave it to me and here I am at 15 with no liscense...I drove that dang van all over two States and never did get stopped...By the time I turned 16 we had left VW and went to Ford...My Dad was the Fleet{new transfer trucks} and used car manager...I again was mixing suds and washing dang cars...I scored a killer 70 Mach 1 Mustang the day before I turned 16 when a guy traded for a CobraII...back too the van...I used the VW mainly for fishing as I could haul all my gear and then just camp out if so desired...My Uncle may or may not have been running a big still back up in the woods and I may or not hang around there some...Well they would be blind as bats and passed out pretty soon after things got rolling so I rolled with it...I never did like that stuff much as it would make a dude hurl!!!!! Still it was liquid money and long /short I ended up in Wilmington with more than a few gallons of that stuff in that VW...I had to meet this farmer guy and when I did he directed me on out too his farm...Next thing I know it's the next day and I awoke out by a pond in a cow pasture somewhere on this dude's farm...How I got there I had no clue....Funny thing is the roof on that van cranked up and had canvas and a bug screen....all that was up but I've got no idea how any of that happened either...i started trying to clear the fog and checked my pockets....sure enough the old farmer had paid me...so at least my uncle wouldn't be mad...Luckily I'd put a case of canned Mt.Dews in the cooler before I left our farm...I had another Uncle who drove a Pepsi truck so we had plenty of that stuff....hung over as hell an ice cold dew is Nectar for the Gods...Just as I was trying to formulate a plan a beautiful blonde girl walks up on me....oddly carrying a 5 gallon bucket and even more odd she knew my name...Well it seems her Grandad was the old farmer and she is the one who had parked the van where it was and set the roof up...In the 5 gallon bucket she had ground corn for the cows....mixed with magic mushrooms...Did you know that when a mushroom pore goes in one end of a cow and comes out in a hot pile it's double dang sure gonna sprout....Neither did I until then....Hell I was still not believing the whole magic mushroom story...So off we go and in about an hour we had the corn in the cows and a full bucket of those mushrooms...With about three more buckets full left...She had to go but directed me how to get the hell outta there and said pick all the mushrooms you want....So I got them all...I got back too our farm with a whole new plan....and hell yeah we had around 150 cows...Little sweetie had also given me her phone number so all was good...Unc was kinda skeptical as well so he went ahead and ate a few...All was good until almost dark when I turned on some music and he got on the hood of my Aunt's brand new Thunderbird and started dancing....and.....stripping...I was trying to keep this sheet on the down low and managed to do so by saying he's been at the still all day...I parked the VW up beside our pond in the cow pasture and set up a genuine mushroom factory...It worked so good that sadly the next time it moved was thirty years later when I sold it as scrap...Little sweetie had problems of her own and her boyfriend shot and killed her...I felt kinda guilty about that as she had tried her damndest to get me to move in with her down there...Unc eventually got turned in and the cops dynamited the hell out of his still...He died on me a few years back but as I said then the alcohol had taken his mind years before...Last winter I walked through the old still site and saw something shiny....A little Long Meadow single serving milk bottle that Unc used as his tester...It's an old bottle with a thick rim and I believe they came with paper caps...That bottle is priceless too me...Like I said ....Sometimes I don't know why I was chosen too stay here when others have passed on...Just like Little Sweetie...Unc even gave her that name and we never called her anything else...Mushrooms and Shine...well I've seen lots of people with Shine lately....not me though...I moved from that too things that were far more dangerous too deal with...a short stay with the State and I gave that up as well...I rehabbed in the Department of Corrections....seriuosly...I'd not been clean for years prior...Some strive for a big house and fine cars...Myself...Hell material possessions I've got all that...I even have two pieces of property too call home....Mainly though I just wanna be happy...I am and through the many things I've done I was always square with people...I got a few enemies but a hell of a lot of friends...All that sheet above may be true may not...Those years provided me with many unique experiences...Sure I'd change some things....Laughing one more time with Little Sweetie would be on the top of the list. I'd not thought about that for years until I read VW Van in the parents driveway.....

What a story, Dee, what a great read to start the day...a most colorful chapter in "The Life and Times of El Diablo".

Funny how something so seemingly innocuous can trigger a landslide of memories and emotions, isn't it?

(((Dee)))

Vaper's tongue and dry mouth here, as well... downed the wattage, changed the head to the RBA, upped water intake -- all's good, the Varis haven't been receiving much love this weekend.

And I am sloshy, water- logged, heading into fish territory, lol.

Good morning, everyone!

Good morning workaholics!

Hey El Dee, that tale of yours brought back a lot of memories for me too. Back when I first got out of the service and was partying with friends out in the desert of New Mexico. We all had bikes, beer and lots of other goodies.

The one thing I remember vividly is the stars out there at night. The air was usually ultra clear and you could see millions and millions of stars. Beautiful, and enhanced by the partying.

Ha, ha, those were some fun days. I had bought the bike with money I saved while I was in the service and I lived in a very old, teensy, tiny trailer for 15 dollars a month behind the big ol' bar in Hatchita, NM. I'd gentle break and shoe horses and work cows for a little money and it was very little money. Eventually I got a job with a highway construction company, worked my tail off and moved up pretty fast. One time they offered me a real good job, but it meant cleaning up my act or just keeping on with all the things I was doing.

I decided to clean up my act and take the job offer and from there it was onward and upward.

LOL, all of that was nearly 55 years ago and I still remember many of the old friends from back then.

Good morning all!
Loved the story ElDee and I'm glad you found that old milk bottle. :)

I've also adjusted the watts down to 12 to be able to enjoy the Vape without coughing up a lung. I do believe I like a cooler vape as well. :)
Madison has a delayed opening at her school this morning so I get a bit of a shorter work day as well. :) works for me!
We got about 3 or 5 inches of snow yesterday followed by some ice. A chance of some more crud through Wednesday I believe.

Wishing you all a great day!

Really TT? I know of Hackensack but never been there. Sorry I wasn't here to answer promptly, but getting the wee one ready for school after A weekend of sleeping in is never easy. I'm glad for the delay today!

The crud I said would last until Wednesday turned into Thursday when I just looked. More ice tomorrow night!! Lovely!

Morning Wuzz! I'm not sure about a Monday being bodacious, but I'm sure gonna try! :)
You all have a great one as well...time to start the car and remove all the ice. I have some Priuses to pass! ;)

It was the early 80s when Hurricane Diana hit the Wilmington area...My Dad had went back into trucking and I scored a one time gig driving a load of bottled water too Carolina Beach...The water was donated right on along with the driving gig...They set it up for me to hit an abandoned service station and boys in pick ups dispersed the water from there....Somewhere in the files is an old pic of me taken in the reflection of the tinted windows of that old station...I had a surgical scrub shirt and cut off Levis that damn near qualified as Daisy Dukes...Wearing scrubs was sort of a code between Hellions back then...Between pick up loads going out of my truck I hit Little Sweetie up on a pay phone...Her Grand Dad answered and informed me of her fate...When the truck was emptied I drove up too the farm and sat with her Grand Dad for a couple of hours...

The area around Wilmington is the only place world wide where the Venus Fly Trap grows naturally...Last year legislation was passed making digging one up a felony...I'd dug a couple of shoots years back and set them out in a suitable spot at my beach crib...being the spot was perfect and with a little fertilizer it quickly grew pretty big...Some dirty bass turd stole it a couple years ago....There's a nursery down that way that sells propagated cuts....I need to pick up a few and restart my spot...Wilmington is also know as the best place for the Magical Mushrooms too occur naturally...Spring being the height of the season...Don't get caught out in a cow pasture down that way now!! I don't mess with them anymore but I did read where the active ingredient "psycilobin"{spell that!!} may have some great health benefits...I'd go with a low dose....

We had about 6" to clean up Fran. It was nice of Mother Nature to give us partly cloudy skies and a temp of 33 to help me a bit.

We had cows when I was growing up Dee, and yes sir, I've done my share of shroom picking from our pastures. Never cared for them myself, but it was handy cash when I was a teen. I was always a drinker back then, with a good share of things that were always available from an old Aunt's medicine cabinet.

Time for lunch and a nap :)

I had some vape mail today too. I had ordered a couple 50 watt iSticks and surprisingly, they are almost the same size as my beloved Vapor Shark rDNA30.

The difference is that in the rDNA30 I can change the battery with another of my own.

But both the rDNA30 and the 50 watt iSticks work very well with my Kayfun's and Delta tanks and coils (both are 1.5 ohm).
