LOL, I was just going to say that I doubt TT was ever under attack when he was there. I hope not anyway!

Ha! I worked in places most people don't even remember and only a few were friendly.

Not the kind of stories I like to share though.

It never was enjoyable. It just paid good.

Why do you doubt that salem?

It all started with two tours in Nam with the Marine Corps.

Um .... some people would attack us from time to time. There wan't much in the way of fun or games.

And a while after I got out I ended up with the job I retied from.

Oops. Sorry, I guess that I was mistaken :( I was pretty sure that we were talking about Afghanistan with the tires.

Ahhh yeah....the slow leak...I take the tire off and spray it with 50% Simple Green 50% water....bubbles indicate where the leak is....

A couple of the new military tires on the Dodge had weird to me colored wood stuck in them...almost orange like fat lighterd...I assume it's Afghani and bomb debris...not stuck in the treads but sidewalls...A sidewall is thinner than the tread area so a plug is a no go....One tire was dang near almost new with a splinter on the edge of the tread...I plugged it and it stayed aired up for a month....Then it leaked...I pulled the plug and installed another......leaked....I bought some glue made for sealing plugs...It stopped the leak for 36 hours and then did something I've never seen before....Blew the dang plug out....

Calm winds and blue skies enticed me outdoors today, altho a chilly 34*. I attacked the hedges and lopped them down to about waist high...no more dragging the ladder out to prune them during the summers :thumb:

Got a yew tree that needs some bottom limbs pruned off, but that will require the chainsaw...and another day.

Salem, Thanks for that info. I'm always a day late and a dollar short!!! :) Figure it won't help me this bout, but since I suffer with them quite awhile, if I start now...... :) I'll prevent some of it! I love and always have on hand some of the Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother in it. Stuff works great, but doesn't smell so hot.

I've not done much in the way of Kiwi mixing either so we will see how his turns out. I will let you know for sure.

Bov, glad you showed those hedges who's boss!!! Man I hated doing them at my Dad's place so I know just what your feeling now that it's over and you won't be dragging ladders all summer.

ElDee, USPS sure is messing up! My Aunt was telling me today how they delivered a heavy box to her porch, and it wasn't hers at all. She got them on the phone and had them come remove it PRONTO and deliver it to the right address. They were thankful bc most people wouldn't have done that, they'd have kept it!

TT, Was a blasted long carpenters nail stuck in that tire!!! I don't think the ex is still harboring ill feelings (but you never know! He's done it several times in the past), but I think it's one of 2 things....there was a fire a few houses down a couple months ago and it could have been from throwing remnants into the dumpster in the street, OR my neighbor, the carpenter, lugging his stuff back and forth across the alley. Note to self, don't drive the alley!

The thing about using honey to treat allergies is that just like antihistamines, you need to start using it several months before allergy season starts. I use it every day.

Raw honey has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. It promotes body and digestive health, is a powerful antioxidant, strengthens the immune system, eliminates allergies, and is an excellent remedy for skin wounds and all types of infections. Raw honey's benefits don't stop there. Raw honey can also stabilize blood pressure, balance sugar levels, relieve pain, calm nerves, and it has been used to treat ulcers. Raw honey is also an expectorant and anti-inflammatory and has been known to effectively treat respiratory conditions such as bronchitis and asthma.

Raw honey purchased from a local source is an excellent way of treating seasonal allergies. Local honey is preferred for treating allergies because the likelihood is great that it will contain small amounts of the specific pollens an individual may be allergic to.

To treat allergies, take a teaspoon of raw honey a couple of times a day starting a few months prior to allergy season.

Balance blood sugars sounds like a Diabetic could do this too? I'm controlled on the meds but love honey.

LD, I was talking to a girl that I know who works at the PO yesterday. She told me that they just closed down a major USPS distribution center in NC. Charlotte is where I think she said it was. Plus, she told me that they are having major issues with people inside the USPS stealing packages.

I am also bothered by allergies year round. I bet that it will help if you start taking it daily. ACV does amazing things for the kidneys, liver and so many other parts of the body. It is an acquired taste but, once you get used to it, really is not that bad.

Balance blood sugars sounds like a Diabetic could do this too? I'm controlled on the meds but love honey.

Looks that way, Oly. Certainly could not hurt. There is an old thread here in the health section. A person was wondering if VG could have been affecting her BS. She was having a heck of a time controlling her BS. I told her to try drinking ACV before every meal. She said that she had already tried that and it did not work. Well, she was using ACV purchased at the grocery store. She did not believe me when I told her that it had to be Braggs with the mother in it. Low and behold, many months after I had forgotten about that thread, I got a PM from her. She was thanking me because using the Braggs before every meal did the trick. She was amazed.

Oh no Salem, I LOVE vinegar!!! It's the smell of the one with the Mother in it that bothers me some....but not enough to avoid it! ;)
It really is good stuff! Isn't it a strange thing to call it "mother" though? Whatever it is, it works.

DD just told me that her Dad is stuck on the highway with a blown tire. Must be the day for tire troubles. All these dang potholes up here sure don't help matters!

ElDee, dd is heading your way early in the morning and I'm more than a little nervous especially with this snow storm coming. She's the child that there is no holding back, so my worries are falling on deaf ears. I swear she's gonna make me drink!!! I will pm you tomorrow with some areas she plans on visiting and you can tell me if I need to be concerned more than I am already. I told her to behave bc I've got this friend down there that don't mess around, and if I have to call him I will! Haha nah, she's a good kid. I worry more about others causing her trouble, than her getting into any.

Everyone please say a little prayer for safe travels for dd and one for me that I make it through with only a few more gray hairs? Thanks!

Good night all.......Zzzzzzzzz

Good morning kiddos!!

Wow, look at all those pretty, freshly washed young faces this morning!! What a fine crowd of young folks you guys are!!

Today is the first day of spring. It will be 75 degrees here this afternoon with some spring showers.

All you poor people who live up in the north-east have a big, old snow storm heading your way, but at least you can look at sweet FranC's nice pictures and dream of spring. Spring will get there ....one of these days!

Tracy, I'm glad you got that tire fixed. I hate the thought of you driving around with that big nail in your tire!! LOL, and that was good thinking putting bro El Dee on full alert with your DD heading down that way! He would be the best "Protection" and "Advisor" I can think of. Good choice.

Well, it was so nice here yesterday that I never did get started on house cleaning. With all the rain we've had it was a good day to get on one of the 4Wheelers and go do a little "mudding." I was so dirty when I came in that I had to take two showers, but it sure was fun!

So, that's today's news.

Now its time for you guys to get ready to go to work and get some $$$ in my Sociable Securities account. Be sure to tell your bosses that your money is earmarked for MEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
